Job Summary

At Prime Hospitals Ltd., the OT Brother plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and safe surgical operations. The position is responsible for preparing the operation theatre, assisting medical professionals during procedures, and maintaining strict infection prevention and control standards in line with hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Operative Responsibilities

• Prepare OT as per scheduled surgical procedures.

• Ensure sterilization and proper arrangement of surgical instruments.

• Verify availability of all required consumables and supplies.

• Assist in safe transfer and positioning of patients.

• Check functionality of OT equipment (OT lights, suction machine, monitors).

• Maintain readiness following Prime Hospitals Ltd. OT checklist standards.

2. Intra-Operative Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures efficiently.

• Provide correct instruments promptly as required.

• Maintain strict aseptic and sterile environment.

• Support anesthetist when needed.

• Ensure safe handling and passing of surgical tools.

• Follow infection control protocols of Prime Hospitals Ltd. at all times.

3. Post-Operative Responsibilities

• Assist in shifting patients to recovery room safely.

• Clean and disinfect OT after each procedure.

• Ensure instruments are sent for sterilization.

• Dispose biomedical waste as per hospital and national guidelines.

• Prepare OT for subsequent procedures without delay.

4. Equipment & Sterilization Management

• Operate autoclave and sterilization equipment as per SOP.

• Maintain OT inventory and report shortages or damages.

• Ensure compliance with hospital infection prevention policies.

• Support periodic OT audits and quality checks.

5. Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain OT registers, logs, and checklists.

• Coordinate with nursing, CSSD, and other departments.

• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Prime Hospitals Ltd.

• Report incidents, delays, or equipment issues promptly.

Working Conditions

• Rotational duty including night shifts

• Emergency call readiness required

• Exposure to surgical environment and biomedical waste
