  • Perform routine and specialized X-ray examinations as prescribed by registered physicians, following established departmental protocols.

  • Verify patient identity, review investigation requests, obtain relevant clinical history, and prepare patients appropriately before examinations.

  • Position patients accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

  • Operate digital and conventional X-ray equipment efficiently and ensure optimal image quality with minimal repeat exposures.

  • Follow radiation protection and safety guidelines (ALARA principle) by using appropriate shielding devices and personal protective equipment (PPE) for patients, attendants, and staff.

  • Assist radiologists and consultants during special X-ray procedures, including portable X-rays, fluoroscopic examinations, and contrast studies, as assigned.

  • Maintain accurate patient records, examination logs, and imaging data in the Radiology Information System (RIS), PACS, or other designated hospital information systems.

  • Perform routine quality control checks, basic maintenance, and calibration of X-ray equipment, and promptly report any equipment malfunction to the concerned authority.

  • Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, maintain cleanliness of the X-ray rooms and equipment, and dispose of medical waste according to hospital policies.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality, provide courteous and professional patient care, comply with all policies, rules, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Universal Medical College & Hospital (UMCH), and perform any other duties assigned by the Head of the Department or Hospital Management.
