Experience:
Master’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, & Environmental Studies
Minimum 15+ years of experience in research, particularly in climate change, agro-ecology, gender, or rural development
Strong understanding of climate justice, gender justice, and political economy
Proven experience in conducting field research and data analysis
Excellent report writing skills in English
Experience working in coastal and/or drought-prone regions of Bangladesh will be an advantage
Additional Requirements

Job Context
Research Initiatives Bangladesh (RIB) is seeking a qualified and experienced Research Consultant to lead and support a research study examining the intersectional impacts of climate change and the neo-liberal economy on rural households, with a focus on climate and gender justice.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive desk review of relevant literature on climate change, agro-ecology, gender justice, and political economy
Develop structured and semi-structured questionnaires, checklists, and research tools
Design and implement a household survey (minimum 100 households) in selected agro-ecological zones (e.g. salinity, flood, drought, waterlogging areas)
Lead qualitative research including:
Focus Group Discussions (FGDs)
In-depth Case Studies
Key Informant Interviews (KIIs)
Analyze both quantitative and qualitative data
Prepare draft research report and incorporate feedback from peer review
Finalize and contribute to e-publication of the research report in English
Support dissemination of findings through a national seminar
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications
