Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Social Sciences, Business, Development Studies, or related fields preferred).
1 to 4 year(s) of practical experience in grassroots field survey, NGO project monitoring, supply chain auditing, commercial field research, or mystery shopping.
Prior experience navigating diverse rural and urban environments across Bangladesh is highly desirable.
Acute Powers of Observation: Exceptional eye for detail, ability to notice small anomalies, and capacity to retain accurate mental notes of real-time events.
Resilience & Patience: High emotional stability, patience to wait out long field observations, and the stamina to work independently in challenging or unpredictable field conditions.
Computer Literacy (Mandatory): Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, mobile data collection tools, email communication, and web-based research.
Discretion & Integrity: Absolute commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding client projects, research methodology, and field findings.
Communication: Clear oral and written reporting skills in both Bengali and English.
Our client is a specialized professional services and market research firm operating in Bangladesh. The company conducts in-depth qualitative field studies, supply chain tracking, and market observations for commercial and organizational clients.
They are seeking a highly observant, resilient, and detail-oriented Field Officer to execute ground-level field surveys, perform desk research, carry out discrete observational mapping, and submit meticulous reports. If you have a background in grassroots field survey, commercial field audit, or NGO project monitoring, this role offers an exciting opportunity for autonomous, impactful work.
Key Responsibilities
Grassroots Field Surveys: Conduct on-ground visits to commercial hubs, markets, retail ecosystems, supply chain routes, and specified field locations to collect reliable, unvarnished primary data.
Observational Research & Monitoring: Perform discrete, detailed field observations regarding product availability, market trends, local distribution networks, and operational activities without drawing unnecessary attention.
Desk & Secondary Research: Perform background research, open-source data gathering, and information cross-verification using online tools and local networks before and after field visits.
Meticulous Reporting: Maintain exact, chronological records of field findings, photograph/document observations systematically, and prepare objective, factual field reports for senior analysts.
Stakeholder Interaction: Tactfully interact with local vendors, field contacts, and community members to gather contextual information while maintaining complete professional discretion.
Salary negotiable based on experience and qualification of the candidate.
This position is contractual for a client’s project. Renewable at the end of each quarter based on performance and client’s requirement. We expect the project to run for 24 months or longer.
