Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Oversee the purchasing process for all raw materials, supplies, and services required by the company.
∎ Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet operational needs, while ensuring competitive pricing and maintaining quality standards.
∎ Work with internal teams to understand material requirements and support their supply needs.
∎ Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they align with the company’s quality, cost, and delivery standards.
∎ Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms of sale.
∎ Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
∎ Establish and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring that all purchasing activities stay within financial guidelines.
∎ Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, bulk purchasing, and vendor negotiations.
∎ Track and report on spending trends and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality.
∎ Monitor inventory levels and ensure that materials and supplies are available to meet production or project needs.
∎ Work closely with the inventory and warehouse teams to ensure accurate stock management and prevent overstocking or stock out.
∎ Implement inventory optimization strategies to minimize waste and improve turnover rates.
∎ Continuously evaluate and improve purchasing processes, implementing best practices to streamline operations, reduce lead times, and improve overall efficiency.
∎ Implement and maintain automated procurement systems or tools to manage orders, supplier communications, and inventory tracking.
∎ Prepare regular purchasing reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics such as spending, supplier performance, and inventory status.
∎ Use data analytics to identify trends, forecast material requirements, and make informed purchasing decisions.
