Education:

  • Minimum master's degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology. 

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 or more years of experience in mental health service delivery, preferably within community or project settings.

  • Training or experience in trauma-informed care

  • Prior experience supervising Para-counselors, lay-counselors, or interns is preferred.

  • Familiarity with standardized screening tools is preferred. 

Key Skills:

  • Strong therapeutic, counselling, and clinical assessment skills.

  • Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated clinical content for cultural and clinical appropriateness.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and provide structured feedback to Para-counselors.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Bangla and English.

  • Ability to work effectively in community and field settings within a research-project timeline.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).



Responsibilities & Context:

The Culturally Aligned Generative AI Project is design to support para-counselors in low-resource community Mental Health settings. The goal of the project is to strengthen community-based mental health services in Bangladesh by improving the quality, accessibility, equity and effectiveness of care through culturally aligned, ethically responsible and evidence-informed AI-assisted decision support for para-counselors.

Job Summary:

The Psychologist will provide direct clinical services including advanced psychological screening, assessment, and counselling to project participants at the assigned site, and will supervise and mentor Para-counselors in the delivery of para-counselling and AI-assisted, culturally aligned decision-support sessions. The role also contributes to reviewing and validating AI-generated outputs for clinical and cultural appropriateness, capacity building of field staff, strengthening of referral pathways, and project documentation and reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Screening and Casework

  • Conduct advanced psychological screening tools for final cohort inclusion across the anxiety, depression, and psychosis strata.

  • Provide psychological assessment, diagnostic formulation, and individual/group counselling for clients referred by Para-counselors.

  • Manage an active clinical caseload at the assigned site, in line with site-level targets

  • Deliver psychological first aid (PFA) and crisis intervention in emergency or crisis situations.

  • Refer complex or severe cases, including psychosis, to specialized facilities and hospitals per service-mapping and referral protocols.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential case records and session documentation.

2. AI-Assisted Decision Support and Quality Assurance

  • Review and validate AI-assisted decision support outputs (case conceptualization and care planning suggestions) generated during Para-counseling sessions for clinical accuracy and cultural appropriateness.

  • Provide structured, timely feedback to the AI development team on tool performance and areas needing refinement.

  • Support the adaptation and pilot testing of the AI decision-support prototype at the assigned site.

3. Supervision, Training and Capacity Building

  • Provide on-job training, clinical supervision, mentorship, and case consultation to Para-counselors at the assigned site.

  • Review Para-counselor’s case notes, screening records, and para-counselling documentation, and provide structured feedback.

  • Co-facilitate Menal health related training and screening-tools training for Para-counselors.

  • Support Para-counselors to build the capacity to facilitate courtyard sessions and stakeholder engagement sessions.

4. Coordination, Documentation and Reporting

  • Coordinate with the Field Coordinator on site-level scheduling of screening, counselling, and courtyard sessions.

  • Contribute technical content to case studies, activity reports, and documentation of good practice.

  • Support development and review of SOPs, screening tools, and clinical guidance materials

  • Participate in project review meetings and contribute to donor and technical reporting as required.

  • Undertake other duties as assigned, relevant to the role.
