Educational Requirements:
∎ Master of Development Studies (MDS)
∎ Master’s Degree in relevant field including, but not limited to: development studies, International development, economics, MBA, engineering or any relevant degree useful in disaster responses and sustainable development programming.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Development of Bid Implementation Plans, and execution of Live bids, under guidance of the Senior Business Development Manager
∎ Supports the assessment, design and write up of concept notes and proposal submissions in collaboration with various teams in the NO: technical, DME, finance, etc.
∎ Coordinate partnering for all opportunities, in close collaboration PDQA, Finance, SOs.
∎ Initiates and mobilizes NO and regional design stakeholders (technical, DME, field implementer) to support pipeline opportunities at all stages of grant acquisition
∎ Knowledge management, including but not limited to: preparation/update of cape statements; critical review of pipeline data accuracy;
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 30 years
∎ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with ability to copy edit documents quickly and accurately.
∎ Five years prior Experience with business development, including advance preparation for bids (Capture) and live bid management
∎ Excellent inter-personal skills and high EQ
∎ Experience implementing development programs in multiple development sectors (e.g. health, livelihoods, climate change adaptation, DRR, education, protection, etc.)
∎ Experience in driving the full process of project design and development through to submission; strong competency in proposal writing
∎ Sense of humor and ability to thrive in fast pace, stressful situations.
∎ Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
∎ Understanding of USAID, DFID, DFAT, EU policies, priorities and proposal processes.
∎ Broad understanding of principled humanitarian action, emergency relief, and resilience objectives and sectors such as shelter and settlements, WASH, food security and livelihoods, humanitarian protection, or health and nutrition.
∎ Proven capacity building, facilitation and training skills.
∎ Decision making and conflict resolution skills.
∎ Five years prior professional experience in International Development or related field.
∎ Three years minimum experience with USAID, DFID, DFAT, EU and/or other major donor proposal development and/or project implementation
∎ Experience in working with a cross-cultural environment
∎ Must be willing and able to travel nationally up to 12 weeks per annum.
∎ Able to work effectively in a large-scale organization and cooperate in a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and communication.
Salary:
∎ Salary is fixed as per organizational structure and policy.
