Job Context:
∎ We are looking for Project Support Staff for USAID-Funded Expanding Participation of People with Disability (EPD) Program.
∎ Strengthen DPOs` capacity to develop high-quality, needs-based, and strategic project proposals so that they are well prepared to bid for future funding opportunities from prospective donors;
∎ Enable DPOs to mobilize national- and district-level stakeholders to implement the DRPA; and
∎ Enable DPOs to evaluate critically the impact of their advocacy plans and to identify avenues for future advocacy.
∎ USAID has contracted with BlueLaw International, LLP to implement the EPD program. To do so, BlueLaw has formed a partnership with three Dhaka-based organizations, National Grassroots Disability Organization (NGDO), National Council of Disabled Women (NCDW), and Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST). As part of this partnership, NCDW is primarily responsible for implementing a small grants program whereby DPOs in up to 8 districts undertake district-level advocacy projects to promote effective implementation of the DRPA. Also, NCDW needs to conduct national-level advocacy activities to strengthen DPOs` district-level projects. The EPD program`s goal is to empower DPOs to advance CRPD implementation in their district-level communities by strengthening their capacity for legal advocacy using the DRPA. By (1) reviewing small grantees` project proposals and making recommendations for gender inclusivity; (2) consulting with each small grantee regularly to identify opportunities to promote women with disabilities` full and effective participation in planned activities; (3) periodically traveling to working areas to provide technical assistance to small grantees in implementing and participate in trainings, advocacy meetings, conferences, and assistance to justice-seekers; and (4) reviewing small grantees` reporting on activities for gender inclusivity and making recommendations for promoting greater gender inclusion across all activities, this new role will ensure that women with disabilities are empowered and mobilized to actively engage in advocacy activities that promote DRPA implementation and also that the benefits of DRPA implementation arising from small grantees` advocacy activities are shared equally by men and women with disabilities, especially given the increased and multiple forms of discrimination and marginalization that women with disabilities face at the grassroots level.
∎ Project Duration : Project ends on April 2020

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Organize a small grantee conference and producing necessary documents for the event;
∎ Organize 10 meetings with government officials;
∎ Assist Communication specialist who has been contracted to hold five press conferences and one TV Talk show for NCDW;
∎ Attending weekly partners' coordination teleconferences and providing updates on the activities and following decisions made during the calls;Maintaining records of all documents of NCDW's EPD activities;Setting regular work plans of the project activities of NCDW and providing updates to the EPD PM and ICC (In-Country Coordinator);
∎ Assist EPD ICC in administering monitoring and evaluation data collection tools for the monitoring and evaluation of the activities of small grantees;
∎ Coordination with main sub grantees and assisting each other, if required;
∎ Implementing all activities of EPD project assigned to NCDW and troubleshooting challenges as they arise;Working in NCDW office at least 2 days every week (applicable for part-time contractual staff), and working from home for the remaining days of the week;
∎ Must be agreed to adjust working hours of US and Bangladesh time zones;

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience of working with DPOs and disability rights is mandatory
∎ Persons with disabilities, women, women with disabilities will be encouraged to apply
∎ Must be skilled in Microsoft word, Excel and online communications
∎ Reading, writing and listening skills in both Bengali and English language
∎ Must be comfortable/agreed to adjust working hours with US and BD times.

Salary: Tk. 20500 (Monthly)

∎ Business : NCDW is a Network of grassroots organizations of the disabled women to build an inclusive society through establishing rights of disable women, strengthening member organizations, linking up with other disabled organizations etc. Formed democratically in 2005, NCDW comprises two councils: General and Executive. GC meets twice and EC twelve a year. The councils provide their members with advocacy skills and legal assistance. There are 127 grassroots disabled women organizations. NCDW develops capacity and leadership among their member organizations to influence amendment and implementation of the Disability Welfare Act and National Disability Action Plan. They campaign on inclusive education, disability inclusive budget, signing of UNCRPD, accessible transport system.
