∎ Uttaran is an NGO working Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged community people. Uttaran is a people cantered organization using a rights based approach to alleviate poverty, diversify livelihood opportunities and empower poor communities of Bangladesh.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Scope of the Work:
∎ Uttaran in Partnership with EDUCO is going to implement “Grow green to protect the planet(G2P)’. It is an 8 month long project. Uttaran is implementing this project in Satkhira district. This Project will contribute to children, adolescent and youth empowerment for social transformation, educate and aware them in humanitarian crisis and natural disaster, address violence and discrimination in the society and contribute to social and ecological transition.The Project Officer will be responsible for forming youth groups, enhancing their capacities, conducting youth led campaigns on climate change and environmental protection, set-up demonstration plots for adaptive livelihood with farmers, establish eco-friendly villages, manage volunteers and look over the administrative works etc.
∎ The specific tasks are as follows:
∎ Project Implementation:
∎ Facilitate the formation of youth groups in selected project locations
∎ orient Youth Group on climate change and DRR
∎ Conduct Adolescent and Youth led environmental audit and prepare risk reduction action plan engaging the community and relevant stakeholders
∎ Awareness raising on climate change and environment through Adolescent and Youth -led campaigns and meetings at the local level and social media platforms
∎ Form/Reform Farmers groups and develop their capacity on Climate Change and adaptive livelihood options
∎ Set up 3 adaptive demonstration plot with the help of the local government on agriculture, aquaculture and livestock
∎ Establish Eco-friendly village model in selected villages.
∎ Mobilize Adolescent and youth on climate change related research
∎ Reporting Monitoring and Coordination:
∎ Document the whole process and facilitate a video documentary process
∎ Conduct the baseline report
∎ Prepare monthly report and activity reports and the final report
∎ Conduct Impact Monitoring on set-up demo plots to understand how well they are functioning and to understand most significant changes in A&Y life, their context and environment
∎ Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders at the field level for effective and smooth implementation of the project
∎ Work under the guidance of the Program Development Specialist of Uttaran for the implementation of the project
∎ Regularly Communicate Project update with Uttaran and Educo
∎ Communicate regularly with Project beneficiaries so that they are well aware about the project activities and implement the project accordingly.
∎ General Responsibility:
∎ Lead project planning, implementation, and maintaining close collaboration with Uttaran and EDUCO.
∎ Understand the G2P project objectives, principles and approaches in achieving the goal of the project
∎ Contribute to develop different communication materials.
∎ Prepare procurement plan, keep tracking on the budget expenditure and ensure agro-inputs are reached to the project beneficiaries according to the plan
∎ Arrange field schedule and accompany visitors and explain the project activities.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2 years of working experience with Children, Adolescent and Youth Empowerment for social transformation.

Salary: Tk. 40000 (Monthly)
