Educational Requirements:

∎ *The educational requirement can be relaxed if the candidate has minimum 1 year of experience of working in Nutrition sector in emergency context.

Job Context:
∎ Social Assistance and Rehabilitation for the Physically Vulnerable (SARPV) is a non-government, non-political, Bangladeshi organization under its Health & Nutrition program providing lifesaving health & nutrition support to the displaced people arriving from the Rakhine state of Myanmar and the host community people of Cox`s Bazar.
∎ As part of its Health & Nutrition interventions in support with Concern Worldwide, SARPV will implement multi-sectoral PRM project titled "Delivering Health, Nutrition and Livelihood, and Protection services for Rohingya Refugees and vulnerable host communities in Cox`s
∎ Bazar, Bangladesh" from November 2020.
∎ Employment Status: Contractual, until 31st August 2021 (renewable)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Project Implementation:
∎ Train Health and Nutrition Promoters and Geriatric Case Worker on Nutrition and the Mother Care Group approach for promotion of recommended nutrition practices at household level.
∎ Sensitize and engage husbands and mothers in law of pregnant and lactating women on nutrition using social and behavior change communication methods.
∎ Guide Health and Nutrition Promoters and Geriatric Case Worker to select project beneficiaries with respect and impartiality, and ensuring the required coverage of the project areas.
∎ Guide Health and Nutrition Promoters and Geriatric Case Worker in formation of Mother Care Groups and other project beneficiary groups, ensuring 100% coverage of project area.
∎ Form groups of husbands and mothers in law of Lead Mothers for social and behaviour change communication on nutrition of mothers and children.
∎ Conduct quarterly sessions with husbands and mothers in law of Lead Mothers and agree on key actions for each of them to adopt for improved mother and child nutrition in their own homes.
∎ Conduct home visits for husbands and mothers in law of lead mothers to follow up the personal commitments to behaviour change in their own homes.
∎ Support the development of a pictorial book of innovative nutritious meals recipes for maternal, infant and young child nutrition, through participatory cooking sessions.
∎ Build capacity of Health and Nutrition Promoters and Geriatric Case Worker to deliver quality cascading sessions, as per the Mother Care Group approach, on maternal, infant and young child nutrition, participatory cooking sessions and home gardens.
∎ Distribute project materials to target beneficiaries, and promote the utilization as per project design, to achieve project objectives.
∎ Conduct on the job coaching to the Health and Nutrition Promoters and Geriatric Case Worker to maintain high quality and accountability to beneficiaries.
∎ Coordination:
∎ Conduct community sensitization meetings with leaders and influential persons to ensure buy in and beneficiaries trust and willingness to participate in the project.
∎ Liaise with other SARPV project field teams to ensure integration of all projects within SARPV for smooth operation and mutual support.
∎ Human Resource Management:
∎ Monitor performance of Health and Nutrition Promoters and Geriatric Case Worker in the field and ensure timely performance development reviews for each of them.
∎ Ensure the welfare, safety and security of the Health and Nutrition Promoters and Geriatric Case Worker in liaison with HR and Senior Project Officer.
∎ Ensure an enabling, friendly, collaborative and professional working culture within the project team and adherence to SARPV policies and procedures.
∎ Monitoring and Evaluation:
∎ Participate in regular team meetings to discuss activity progress and learning.
∎ Work with Senior Project Officer to identify and address implementation bottlenecks. Support MEAL team in data collection for surveys and evaluations.
∎ Ensure that the feedback mechanism for accountability to staff and beneficiaries is operational in the project areas.
∎ Reporting:
∎ Share weekly field activities updates with the Senior Project Officer.
∎ Work with MEAL to build capacity of the Health and Nutrition Promoters to and Geriatric Case Worker use the activities' M&E tools.

∎ Additional Roles:
∎ Promote and ensure compliance with the requirements of SARPV's HR policies, SARPV's Code of Conduct and its associated policies and Core Humanitarian Standards of Accountability to ensure protection to programme beneficiaries.
∎ Perform other duties assigned by Senior Project Officer.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 1 year work experience in Nutrition or Public Health related field
∎ Good computer and report writing skills are required
∎ Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is required Experience with the care group approach would be an advantage
∎ Experience working with older people over 60 years and children would be an advantage Good knowledge on Rohingya refugee context is desirable

Salary:
∎ Monthly Gross salary 40,000/- Taka

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 2 days weekly holiday
∎ 2 Festival bonus
∎ Gratuaty-1 month on gross salary
∎ yearly 5% PF contribution from organization
∎ Boishakhi allowance 5% on Basic salary
∎ Local transport, mobile call charge and others allowance will be applicable as per organization's policy.
