Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Implement field activities as per project implementation/annual plan.
∎ Develop concept notes for various events.
∎ Finalize the project participants following the criteria mentioned in the orphan sponsorship policy.
∎ Provide technical support for collecting data on post-sponsored children and compiling the data.
∎ Ensure all requirements set by the program management for finalizing the agreement between the family of the selected orphan children and IR;
∎ Visit the households of the sponsored children to collect well-being information and observe the transformational changes in their lives.
∎ Ensure Quality ‘Annual Progress Reports (APR)’ of Sponsored children of respective field within the deadline following prescribed guidelines.
∎ Conduct Self Help Group (SHG) assessment at least once a year in the respective field office.
∎ Monitor SHG savings process and maintain Qard- al-Hasana in respective field office.
∎ Ensure individual IGA planning for the families of all sponsored children.
∎ Send continuation & termination requests within the timeline for the respective field office.
∎ Ensure the regular update of sponsorship information at Al-yateem system.
∎ Ensure the monitoring & follow-up of performance of all CLCs (Child Learning Canters), and undertake necessary development plans.
∎ Support to strengthen the alumni association of post-sponsored children.
∎ Send ‘Guardian change’ request timely with proper justification & rationale.
∎ Ensure sponsored children’s assessment every three years and preserve the necessary information in the respective child’s file following IRW-prescribed guidelines & scoring format.
∎ Provide other technical guidelines and support in processing OSP activities in improving program quality.
∎ Ensure day-to-day observation, monitoring, and follow-up of all field activities mentioned in the annual action plan and directed by the program management.
∎ Conduct regular team meetings and share the knowledge & findings to ensure effective program implementation.
∎ Assist the program management and MEAL team to conduct research, study, data collection, and impact assessment as per (the MEAL) framework and ensure quality implementation.
∎ Take initiative to make the CFM (Complaint Feedback Mechanism) functional and monitor regularly, and circulate other Govt. hotline services (i.e., 999, 333, 109).
∎ Conduct program risk assessment and share the mitigation strategy with program management regularly.
∎ Manage various audits (external & internal) and queries from different agencies regarding respective field offices as per the organizational requirement.
∎ Produce quality reports following the requirements of donors & IR.
∎ Prepare monthly/ quarterly/any other reports of OSP as required by line management.
∎ Develop case studies/success stories/lesson learning/best practices for the respective field office.
∎ Maintain proper process documentation including files of sponsored children, event reports, visit reports, education reports, etc.
∎ Manage, supervise, and support the field staff in conducting their assigned responsibilities as well as play a mentoring role as required.
∎ Ensure the required capacity of respective field staff in delivering qualitative output, and properly acknowledge their performance (annual performance appraisal, daily attendance, field movement register).
∎ Identify learning and development needs for further improvement of the respective staff members at their own and other field offices.
∎ Represent IR to Govt. counterparts at the field level and play a role in trust-building with key Govt. agencies as per the direction of programme management.
∎ Build networks and collaborate with local civil society movements for local-level advocacy initiatives in coordination with programme management as well as the external relations and communication department.
∎ Manage project finance & budget (i.e. Bill, vouchers, PR, money requisition, cash advance, etc.) following organizational tools & system.
∎ Maintain oversight of grant disbursement to direct beneficiaries as well as other contractual aspects of the programme.
∎ Manage and ensure the integration & compliance of IR policies and other relevant sector codes of good practices including. Administrative, health, safety, and security policies and frameworks at the field level.
∎ Contribute to other project activities, and any other tasks as required by program management.

∎ Islamic Relief Bangladesh (IRB), established in 1991, is a humanitarian and development organization committed to supporting the most vulnerable and marginalised communities. The Orphan Sponsorship Programme (OSP) is one of IRB’s longest-running initiatives, aiming to improve the socio-economic conditions and ensure the rights and protection of orphaned and vulnerable families. The OSP operates in 09 different locations across Bangladesh, supporting around 5500 orphaned children and their families, ensuring access to healthcare, education, shelter, and other essential needs in vulnerable areas. Additionally, it empowers families by promoting sustainable livelihoods through an alternative care model. IRB advocates for a family or community-based approach to child upbringing, believing it to be more effective than traditional orphan care systems.
