Job Context:
∎ The Project Officer for Ensuring Sustainable Access to WASH for the Most Vulnerable Rural Communities in Cox Bazar project will facilitate and implement the WASH related interventions of the Ramu Ensuring Sustainable Access to WASH for the Most Vulnerable Rural Communities in Cox Bazar, Bangladesh and assist in completion of project goals to ensure high level of stakeholders` participation and ownership in all targeted Unions of Ramu. This position is also responsible for setting up beneficiary criteria, leads the beneficiary selection process, formation of different committee, site selection and agreement sign of different construction works. S/He is also responsible for formation and building capacity of the existing WASH committees in the in the targeted slum community.
∎ S/He is responsible to support community facilitators to mobilize the community in WASH need and also technical oversights and ground support for conducting baseline survey and evaluation. Position is also responsible for drafting reports as per the requirements of MOFA, Japan and WVB; and S/He will report to the Project Coordinator.
∎ S/He is responsible for supporting Project Technical Coordinator to achieve goal, objectives and outputs of the project at the community level. Networking and linkage is one of important responsibilities for the position to build up rapport within the community.
∎ S/He is responsible for initiation of capacity building process with Technical Manager, HNW/WASH coordinator. S/He is responsible for creating environment for identification of best practices, documented most significant changes, and provide input support AR development to T&D officer.
∎ S/He is responsible for creating working environment for ongoing monitoring, Community led monitoring and devise base monitoring to Project M&EO.
∎ S/He is responsible for implementing project interventions through community level volunteers. This position will also supervise WASH volunteers and Engineers those who are not regular full time staff members.
∎ This MOFA funded projects duration is 3 years.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Meet with the targeted slum community people in different purposes.
∎ Ensure the community mobilization.
∎ Execution of the project activities.
∎ Facilitators, community.
∎ Networking within the GoB/UP and other NGOs.
∎ Conduct Ward/Union WATSAN committee meeting.
∎ Supervise the Community volunteers.
∎ Reporting and documentation.
∎ Facilitated to train WASH Committee.
∎ Develop beneficiaries selection criteria and conduct beneficiaries selection under criteria.
∎ Monitor Union/Ward WATSAN and Water point management committee activities.
∎ Help to complete water point and latrine construction.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Must have knowledge and skills of WASH project implementation for at least three years.
∎ Ability to drive motorbike with valid driving license.
∎ Management capacity of field level works.
∎ Ability to work in different target groups and diversify socio-cultural environment.
∎ Oral and written communication skills in English and Bengali.
∎ Ability to work in a team & skill for community mobilization.
∎ Work under pressure and can take additional responsibilities.
∎ Basic computer literacy using of Microsoft Office Microsoft Word, Excel & MS Power Point.
∎ Understanding of rural and semi urban context and administration.
∎ Minimum 3 years specifically in the WASH activities.
∎ 75% field visit in the working area is expected
∎ Good working relationship between AP staff and project staff and other projects including special projects in the working area.
∎ This role will work directly with the community in respective project. Child and mother friendly environment exits in the project work places. Secured, safety, friendly and cooperative working environment among the team members.
Salary: Tk. 50000 - 55000 (Monthly)
