  • Experience in training facilitation and coordination with stakeholders.

  • Strong reporting, monitoring, and documentation skills.



Responsibilities & Context:

Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org>, established in 1985 (International Youth Year) is an organization for sustainable development working in Dhaka Division, Sylhet Division, Chattogram Division including Chittagong Hill Tracts, Cox’s Bazar. YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Integrated Protection and Resilience Interventions for Host community in three subdistricts (Ramu, Ukhiya and Chakaria) of Cox’s Bazar District” since 2020. The project is technically supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by US DoS.

Reportable to the Position: Upazila Manger (CP, DRR and ERD)

Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract up to August 2026, with possibility of extension.

Duty Station: MPCCs of Paschim Bara Bheola, Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar Districts.

Project’s Geographical Area: Ramu, Ukhiya and Chakaria.

Job Purpose:

The Project Officer - Child Protection will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of child protection initiatives within the host community of Cox's Bazar. The role is cantered on safeguarding children's safety, well-being, and rights in accordance with the organization's child protection standards and local regulations. Responsibilities to implementation child protection program in project locations which includes ensure psychosocial support for psychologically distressed children, ensure case management in coordination with department of social services (DSS), strengthening child protection systems, child protection situation monitoring and reporting, adolescent life skill program and leading community-based protection efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement child protection programs in coordination with WPE, PRoL, and ERD sectors.

  • Coordinate with the Department of Social Services (DSS) to ensure effective case management and support vulnerable children.

  • Conduct assessments to identify at-risk children and determine appropriate interventions.

  • Strengthen community-based child protection systems and committees (CBCPC).

  • Engage with school management committees and ensure life skills programs for school-going children.

  • Facilitate community awareness sessions on child protection for parents, caregivers, and children.

  • Establish child protection situation monitoring systems and prepare regular reports.

  • Monitor implementation of child protection activities and ensure adherence to schedules.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of cases and related activities.

  • Provide training and capacity development to community volunteers, teachers, and stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with NGOs, UN agencies, INGOs, and government bodies (e.g., DSS, MoWCA, Youth Development).

  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings at district and Upazila levels.

  • Ensure strong communication and collaboration with other organizational sectors such as Education, Health, and Livelihoods.

Safeguarding and PSEA:

Ensure the safety of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation. Promote and implement safeguarding policies and maintain a safe working environment in line with organizational standards.
