Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Major in Finance/Accounting)/Accounting/ Finance from a recognized university having at least two first-class degrees. No 3rd class will be considered.
∎ Minimum 05 (Five) years of professional experience in accounting and financial management. The candidates having working experience in World Bank/ADB/GIZ/GCF-funded or other donor-funded development projects will be given preference.

Job Context:
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement the "Climate-Resilient Infrastructure for Sustainable Community Life in the Haor Region of Bangladesh" funded by the IKI Small Grants Funding Scheme of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment. The project will be implemented in the Haor area of Sunamganj district of Bangladesh with a view to protecting the villages (Hati) from wave erosion from Afal. The German development organization Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (giz) Bangladesh office will look after the project. The PKSF will implement this project through FIVDB. The present project tenure is one year.
∎ Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), is a Bangladeshi non-governmental organisation founded in 1979 under the Societies` Registration Act, 1860. The organisation is also registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau and the Micro Credit Regulatory Authority, of the Government of Bangladesh.
∎ FIVDB`s societal vision is that of `a vibrant society based on justice, equity, democracy and environmentally sound principles`. It works with the mission to give the disadvantaged women, men and children greater voice, reduce their vulnerability, increase their use of citizenship rights and help them enhance their quality of life. To that end FIVDB pursues educational, social and economic capacity building and social organization processes. It works to strengthen social protection and safety networks and participates in national and international outreach and advocacy. The organization combines grassroots service delivery, social mobilization and advocacy in its work and works in collaboration with communities, civil society, the Government and private sectors
∎ Objective of the project:
∎ Promote climate adaptive infrastructure measures for selected vulnerable communities in the project area including communities.
∎ Promote climate-adaptive livelihoods for climate vulnerable people in haor region
∎ Improve the biodiversity conservation through sustainable resource management for reducing impacts of climate change in the haor region
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assistant Project Coordinator (Accounts & Finance) will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator (PC). The specific tasks are, but not limited to, the following:
∎ 1. Maintain accounts following the International Accounting Standard (IAS) as adopted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), on the basis of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
∎ 2. Maintain separate books of accounts on an accrual basis under historical cost convention following the accounting manual of FIVDB for preparation of software-based final accounts on a daily basis.
∎ 3. Provide background data and inputs to prepare the annual financial statements incorporating disclosure on income and expenditure, receipts and payments, and the financial position of the project, along with other notes and relevant information.
∎ 4. Implement a computerized accounting system to account for all FIVDB project transactions.
∎ 5. Prepare annual financial statements incorporating disclosure on income and expenditure, receipts and payments, and the financial position of the project, along with other notes and relevant information.
∎ 6. Support the internal audit section of FIVDB with the necessary information.
∎ 7. Support external auditors with the necessary information.
∎ 8. Take the necessary actions or make the necessary arrangements for disbursing funds to vendor which are in accordance with the agreements; verify bill and others document related
∎ 9. Any other duties assigned by FIVDB.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 20 to 45 years
∎ Working knowledge on public procurement policy (PPR-2008) and procedures
