Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from any university. Candidates with a Master of Science degree in Horticulture will be given priority. However, candidates with a bachelor's degree in a field other than agriculture may be considered if they possess proven experience in home gardening, particularly in beneficiary selection, beneficiary training, and seed distribution.

Job Context:
∎ Location: Rohingya Camps in Cox`s Bazar
∎ Job Nature: Full-time
∎ Duration: Up to December 31, 2023, subject to the availability of fund and satisfactory performance.
∎ Project Brief: `Homestead Gardening in the Rohingya Camps in Cox`s Bazar` project focuses on Cyclone Mocha affected Rohingyas refugee communities, who are simultaneously affected by the most recent food ration cuts and are at risk and most vulnerable to the upcoming monsoon season. The objective of the project is to support the Rohingya refugees in meeting their food requirements in the aftermath of Cyclone Mocha and WFP`s food ration cuts. The project will support the refugees by providing seeds, gardening materials, and training.
∎ Job Statement: The Project Officer will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of all project interventions within the camps. Working closely with the Technology Support and Training Officer, the Field Officer will ensure the selection of beneficiaries, provide training to the chosen trainees on homestead vegetable cultivation, and facilitate the distribution of vegetable seeds and home gardening kits provided by FAO`s vendor.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ A. Rapid assessment and finalized beneficiaries list
∎ Take stock of the potential beneficiaries list from the project office.
∎ Review the potential beneficiary stocks and map their respective locations.
∎ Group the potential BHHs (Basic Household Units) and distribute them among the Field Associates in an efficient and convenient manner.
∎ Seek consultation and obtain approval from the Camp-in-Charge (CiC) regarding the rapid assessment.
∎ Assist in the development and finalization of rapid assessment data collection tools using Kobo.
∎ Physically visit the potential households to determine the feasibility and scope of vegetable cultivation.
∎ Provide orientation to the Field Associates on the process and tools for beneficiary selection.
∎ Prepare and submit the household data collection plan.
∎ Ensure that the rapid assessment maintains quality by following the prescribed process and tools.
∎ Provide accompaniment support to the Field Associates to ensure timely and high-quality rapid assessment data.
∎ Review, clean, and finalize the list of Rohingya beneficiaries.
∎ B. Beneficiary Training on Home Gardening
∎ Assist the Technology Support and Training Officer in developing training modules and materials on homestead vegetable cultivation.
∎ Organize a staff orientation workshop (ToT) for the training module.
∎ Compile and finalize a list of targeted individuals who will receive training from selected households (one individual per household) and their specific locations within the camps.
∎ Prepare and share the list of trainees and training plan with the CiC to obtain approval.
∎ Identify available training venues within the camps, taking into account capacity, schedules, and facilities.
∎ Coordinate with the technology support and training officer to prepare training materials for distribution among trainees.
∎ Mobilize the BHHs into several training batches, considering the geographical proximity of the selected BHHs.
∎ Prepare a comprehensive training plan.
∎ Ensure the training is conducted according to the plan.
∎ Conduct pre and post-training evaluations.
∎ Prepare a detailed training report.
∎ C. Distribution of vegetable seeds and micro gardening kits
∎ Verify and confirm the list of recipient beneficiaries.
∎ Prepare a detailed list specifying the quantity and specifications of inputs, such as winter vegetable seeds and micro-gardening kits.
∎ Develop an input distribution plan in consultation with the project team.
∎ Coordinate and share the beneficiary list, input details, and distribution plan with the CiC, ensuring approval.
∎ Coordinate and share the input distribution plan with FAO's vendor to ensure timely procurement of inputs prior to distribution.
∎ Safely pre-position the seeds and micro-gardening kits at the distribution sites.
∎ Ensure the distribution of vegetable seeds and micro-gardening kits, procured by FAO, to the selected beneficiaries.
∎ Collect and submit the master roll for input distribution.
∎ D. Monitoring/follow-up, documentation and reporting
∎ Regularly visit the camp sites to monitor the progress and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
∎ Collect and record progress data and other necessary information using tab-based progress tracking tools.
∎ Visit BHHs and conduct Post Distribution Monitoring, inputting the data into tab-based tools.
∎ E. General
∎ Attend training/orientation and other capacity development events as required by the program.
∎ Perform any additional tasks assigned by the management that are in the best interest of the program.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least three years of experience in community-based home gardening activities, specifically in providing training and input.
∎ Having non-discriminatory and gender-sensitive perceptions along with safeguarding
∎ To protect children in connection
∎ Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
∎ MUST be good hand in operating different apps in android phone.
∎ Able to drive motorcycle and have valid driving license.
∎ Good communication, facilitation and motivational skills.
∎ Understanding on local culture and languages.
∎ Abilities to undertake extensive travel to Camps level.
∎ Having problem solving and prompt decision making capacity.
∎ Ability to work under pressure.

Salary:
∎ Consolidated (all-inclusive) BDT 70,000/per month.
