Project Manager will lead, monitor and evaluate the assigned MHPSS project(s) in the specific camp/s under the umbrella of BRAC Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP) which involves effectively manage and report on the projects in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget. In addition to that, manage and train local staff to meet standards in mental health care delivery, encourage beneficiary participation, liaison with other stakeholders and contribute to the development of MHPSS components for new health project proposals and reports.
Plan, develop and implement mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) activities in the specific camp/s under the umbrella of BRAC
Provide strong leadership of the assigned MHPSS projects, working to ensure both short and long-term positive impacts and outcomes for the beneficiaries, local authorities (where applicable) and local staff
Plan and monitor individual and group mental health psychosocial support activities in collaboration with psychologist, community psychosocial volunteers and community para counselor
Ensure timely referral and follow up of cases in need of further support
Facilitate regular meetings to assist information sharing between project staff, to ensure all staff members are aware of project objectives and current work plans and to provide the opportunity for feedback
Provide coaching, technical supervision and training to staff in order to develop ownership for MHPSS and protection activities
Assess the training needs of MHPSS staff and ensure that appropriate training is conducted
Develop supervision model for psychologists, Community Para Counselor (CPC) and Community Psychosocial Volunteers (CPVs)
Ensure implementation of evidence based mental health & psychosocial support and quality care.
Monitor and support the technical supervision of psychologists by technical supervisors
Lead staff counseling unit following established mechanism and ensure psychological care of staff
Build the capacities of psychologists, community para counselor and community psychosocial volunteers including trainings in MHPSS, to facilitate participatory and inclusive activities
Ensure integrated MHPSS support in coordination with mhGAP trained doctors, psychiatrists and relevant stakeholders
Coach, train and mentor staffs with the aim of strengthening their capacity, exchanging knowledge within the team and providing professional development guidance
Monitor indicators and targets for psychologists, supervisors and collect monthly data and share it with donor public health unit
Efficient and proper management of resources including financial, human and project assets
Ensure effective contribution in Budget Management and tracking, monitoring programme budget as per JRP Budget/ Plan
Lead to prepare and submission of report to BRAC and Donor
Ensure proper utilization of donor budget and resources
Contribute to concept note and project proposal writing for fund raising
Ensure procurement of projects as programme need
Ensure inter & intra coordination with different sectors
Ensure strong coordination and collaboration with health facility and community health activities
Ensure timely reporting in different units as well as following online record keeping as data digitization strategy
Lead and deploy emergency team and provide psychological first aid in coordination with sectors
Lead and represent organization in sectoral groups including MHPSS working group
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisations and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goal of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
