Job Context:
∎ CWFD emerged from an emotional response to help women in need of reproductive health care counseling. The organization, originally named as "Concerned Women for Family Planning (CWFP), started its voluntary activities in 1974 to help the refuge coming to Dhaka city after the devastating famine of 1974. The organization was registered in 1975 with Directorate of Social welfare and formally launched its project activities in 1976 with only 5 female staff to cover an area of Dhaka city slum comprising around 50,000 people.
∎ Vision Statement: To empower women of Bangladesh to achieve better status within the family and society.
∎ Mission Statement: CWFD is a non-political, non-profit voluntary organization run by women of Bangladesh to support, promote and protect the interest of women in Bangladesh by providing community based health care, empower community to exercise their rights to eliminate social injustice, creating economic opportunities, empower under privileged youth of urban and rural population and develop human resources for a positive social change.
∎ Project background: Concerned Women for Family Development received funds from Plan International Bangladesh will implement "Dhaka Girl Empowerment (DGE)" project. DGE project in Dhaka (Farmgate, Mohammadpur, Mirpur, Dhanmondi, Uttara, Motijheel and Azimpur) under Dhaka District of Bangladesh.
∎ Project Outcome:
∎ Agency of young people, especially girls and young women, strengthened through active citizenship and greater decision making with regards to their sexual & reproductive health and rights
∎ Alliances and partnerships with media and civil society organizations built and strengthened by young people to promote positive attitudes around girls and young women and their roles in society
∎ Duty bearers at local and national levels adapt policies and practices that strengthen protection mechanism in institute (school and madrasha).
∎ Job duration: Initially one year, based on the funding availability of Dhaka Girl Empowerment (DGE).
∎ Line of responsibility: The Project Manager is directly reportable to the Executive Director.
∎ Duty station: Project Headquarter
∎ Job Location: Dhaka (with 50% field visit)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for overall management of the project including oversee the different community mobilization program and its effective and smooth implementation in the respective project areas.
∎ Guide and supervise project implementation and monitoring in project areas.
∎ Preparation of work plan, budget, project implementation strategy, on regular basis.
∎ Ensure required supports and cooperation from the relevant stake holder for timely implementation of the project activities.
∎ Facilitate in different meeting, forums, conduct training and undertake advocacy activities in relation to achieving project goals and objectives.
∎ Supervise and monitor all program activities on regular basis.
∎ Undertake field visits at least twice in a month and provide guidance and feedback on the spot as and when necessary.
∎ Verify bills and vouchers prepared by the accounts person.
∎ Verify all documents related to procurement, arrange procurement committee meeting and ensure that all organizational policy of process of procurement is followed.
∎ Undertake annual evaluation/ appraisal of project staff.
∎ Regular Networking with Government, NGOs and other relevant stakeholders in the project area.
∎ Coordinate with Plan International, senior management of the organization, and other partners.
∎ Arrange and Involve in capacity building of the project staff.
∎ Collect report from the field, review it, prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual progress report to CWFD, Plan International and other relevant authority as and when necessary.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 35 to 40 years
∎ At least 5 years managerial experience in relevant field. The incumbent needs to have experience on staff management.
∎ Experience on working with ASRHR and Gender Based Violence reducing program.
∎ Extensive travel in the project areas.
∎ Evidence on communicating people of all sectors.
∎ Demonstrate good communication skills.
∎ Ability to handle pressure.
∎ Good writing and speaking skills in English and Bangla both.
∎ Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, MS Excel and Power Point
Salary:
∎ BDT 60,000/- per month (Including all other benefits).
