Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Nazarene Mission (BNM) is a non-government, non-political and non-profit organization, which is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh. BNM is inviting applications from qualified candidates for "Improving health and living condition of tea garden labour and marginalize people in Sreemongal (IHLTMP)" Project Supported by BMZ and German Doctors, Germany which is being implemented in Sreemongal, Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. The objective of this project is -To contribute to improving the health, quality of life and socio-economic situation of vulnerable tea plantation workers and people from marginalised communities in the 4 Unions of Ashidron, Rajghat, Kalighat and Srimangal in Srimangal sub-district, Bangladesh. This contributes to the achievement of the 3rd Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) of UN "to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages".
∎ Under this project, the direct target group comprises 100,000 people, including a total of 67,500 women and children from 40 target villages in Ashidron, Rajghat, Kalighat and Srimangal Sadar Unions. From the population of the 40 target villages, 600 women will be organised into 40 self-help groups and 9,000 people will benefit from the provision of WASH infrastructures. A total of 176 community youth/young adults from the direct target group receive additional training as Community Health Volunteers. They act as mediators by ensuring basic medical care for the targeted group at the community level. The requirements for the positions are given below:
Job Responsibilities:
∎ S/he will ensure the effective implementation of the project in line with the approved project proposal and budget;
∎ S/he will supervise the subordinate field staff to perform their duties and responsibilities;
∎ S/he will maintain linkage with Tea garden management, Govt. and Non-Govt. service providers on Public Health issues;
∎ S/he will have to conduct study/survey as per need of the project and prepare report for the donor and organization.
∎ S/he will be mentally ready to work with Tea Garden labours and ethnic communities.
∎ S/he will Prepare monthly fund requisition, progress report, case story, and other necessary documents as required by the project.
∎ S/he will organize day to day field activities according to the project action/operation plan;
∎ Perform any other responsibilities as guided by the supervisor.
∎ Rapport building with the communities and strongly mobilize the project participants and stakeholders
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 22 to 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Good command both in English & Bangla;
∎ Skills in communicating with English speaking foreign doctors
∎ Skills in writing reports and assessment in standard English.
∎ Requires knowledge of using personal computers including Microsoft Office Application;
∎ Knowledge of Project Management, coordination, leadership, community engagement, and rights-based approach;
∎ Capacity to manage project team
∎ Willing to stay field office area.
∎ Diverse knowledge about Public Health management;
∎ Experience on Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation process.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 38000 (Monthly)
∎ As per the organisational policy.
