Education:

• Master’s preferably in Social Sciences or a relevant discipline or BSc in Engineering

• Proven experience leading and implementation of Skills Development/ TVET and Youth Empowerment programming as a project coordinator or similar role, demonstrating successful project coordination and management.

Job Context

• Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. Near about three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people to bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted with the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community focused and people centered approach has been adapted by ESDO while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 422 upazilas under 56 districts of Bangladesh covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.

• The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in implementation leading and supporting with project management activities and ensuring the successful execution of projects activities, Advancing Career Connections, Employment, and Skills for Success (ACCESS). The position holder is solely accountable for providing technical expertise/responsible for project implementation and day-to-day monitoring of the project. S/he will collaborate with various stakeholders to plan, implement, and monitor project activities, while maintaining effective communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses excellent multitasking and communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities

A. Project Management & Coordination:

• Coordinate the overall implementation of project activities in line with the project objectives, timelines, and budgets

• Ensure project deliverables in the three major components are connected, improved, and transformed.

• Develop detailed work plans considering the budget, following financial compliance, so that all tasks are completed on time.

• Monitor progress and provide regular reports on achievements, challenges, and lessons learned for Event, Monthly, Quarterly, Biannual and Annual.

• Lead the integration of multiple TVET approaches, including competency-based training, Work-based Training (WBT), Referral and apprenticeships.

• Ensure gender equality, inclusiveness, and accessibility in training delivery.

• Support to the Life Skills Trainer (LST) in providing employability skills to foster employment;

• Support the Business Development Officer (BDO) in providing Entrepreneurship development training and developing business plans and incubation support for Youth.

• Support the Employment Support Officer (ESO) in providing apprenticeship/internship & job placement;

• Support Youth Advisory Council (YAC) to conduct youth-led advocacy and campaigns;

• Ensure Guided Quality Benchmark in program implementations of Employment Hub and Mobile Training Center (MTC).

• Ensure administrative, logistic and finance procedures are implemented by the project team;

B. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Development:

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project goals, objectives, and deliverables.

• Develop and maintain partnerships with industries, training providers, chambers of commerce, and community organizations.

• Facilitate Public–Private Partnerships (PPP) for sustainable skills development initiatives for Referral and WBT approach.

• Engage with local communities, youth groups, and women’s associations to promote participation and ownership.

C. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

• Support the M&E Officer in monitoring the Quality Benchmark of the program in all deliverables.

• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain project documentation, including project charters, schedules, and status reports.

• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success.

• Track the employability, job placement, and entrepreneurship success of the trained participants.

• Rigorous field visit and provide feedback on the documentation.

• Capture and document best practices, innovations, and lessons learned for scaling and replication.

D. Capacity Building and Team Support:

• Orient the project staff on organization and project conceptual framework.

• Assess capacity/performance and provide feedback for improvements to project staff.

• Ensure probationary and annual staff assessment.

• Undertake initiative for need-based recruitment during the project period.

• Support training institutions and industry partners in curriculum adaptation, trainer capacity building, and quality assurance.

• Provide technical guidance to project staff, trainers, and partners on TVET methodologies.

• Ensure knowledge transfer and sustainability strategies are embedded in all activities.

E. Resource & Risk Management:

• Coordinate with team members and departments to allocate resources required for project execution.

• Ensure proper asset management.

• Collaborate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of project materials and equipment.

• Assist in resource allocation and tracking to ensure adequate availability of personnel, equipment, and materials for project implementation.

• Identify potential risks or issues that may impact project success and develop mitigation strategies.

• Monitor and track identified risks, escalating critical issues to project management.

• Assist in developing contingency plans to minimize the impact of unforeseen events or disruptions.
