The Programme Specialist will provide dedicated programme oversight, coordination, monitoring and performance follow-up for Friendship’s FCM Income Generation Initiative, ensuring that planned income-generating activities are effectively implemented and translated into measurable results in the field.
The position will support the implementation and performance of FCM Entrepreneurship activities, RFD income-generating activities, mHealth services including BDT 10 and BDT 20 service models, and other approved FCM income-generation initiatives introduced under the programme.
Responsible for:
Monitor and support the overall performance of the FCM Income Generation Initiative.
Ensure effective implementation and performance follow-up of FCM Entrepreneurship, RFD and mHealth activities.
Track FCM income performance against approved baselines and targets.
Identify performance gaps, bottlenecks and low-performing FCMs or programme areas.
Coordinate with programme and field teams to ensure timely corrective actions.
Conduct regular field follow-up and verify reported performance against field realities.
Support FCMs and field teams through practical guidance, coaching and performance follow-up.
Ensure timely, accurate and evidence-based programme reporting.
Identify opportunities for improving FCM participation, service uptake, customer engagement and income generation.
Promote continuous improvement, accountability and result-oriented programme implementation.
Activities:
Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
Monitor income performance of all 690 trained FCMs against approved baselines and targets.
Track achievement of agreed year-wise income growth targets.
Maintain and regularly update the FCM income-generation tracker.
Analyse performance data by FCM, project, area and activity.
Identify low-performing FCMs and programme areas.
Analyse trends, performance gaps, bottlenecks and opportunities.
Recommend practical actions based on performance findings.
Field Follow-up:
Regularly visit Friendship’s North and South programme areas.
Observe programme implementation and FCM activities directly.
Verify reported performance against actual field situations.
Identify operational and implementation challenges affecting FCM performance.
Follow up with relevant teams to address identified issues.
Coordination and Corrective Action:
Work closely with PCs, APCs, Paramedics and Project Officers.
Discuss identified performance gaps with relevant teams.
Facilitate practical corrective actions to improve performance.
Follow up on agreed actions and ensure implementation within defined timelines.
Escalate persistent performance issues to the appropriate authority when required.
Maintain coordination between programme and field teams for effective implementation.
Coaching and Performance Support:
Provide practical guidance and motivation to FCMs and field teams.
Support low-performing FCMs and areas to improve performance.
Identify successful practices from high-performing FCMs or areas.
Facilitate replication of successful practices across programme locations.
Encourage ownership, accountability and result-oriented performance.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare concise weekly and monthly performance updates.
Report key achievements, performance gaps and reasons for underperformance.
Document corrective actions taken and follow-up status.
Highlight priorities and required actions for the next reporting period.
Maintain clear records of decisions and follow-up actions.
Ensure accuracy and quality of performance data and reports.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to increase FCM participation in income-generating activities.
Identify opportunities to improve mHealth service uptake and revenue.
Support improvement of customer engagement and service delivery.
Suggest practical innovations based on field experience and performance data.
Identify opportunities for increasing overall FCM income.
Support continuous programme improvement based on lessons learned and performance findings.
Qualification and Experience:
Master’s degree in any discipline, with experience or exposure in public health, social science, development studies or a relevant discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in field programme management, social enterprise, business/service delivery, performance management or a similar area.
Skills & Competencies:
