Job Purpose
The Programme Manager – Reading Glasses for Improve Livelihood (RGIL-Power) is a contractual position which will lead BRAC’s Vision Spring-funded eyecare project, focusing on presbyopia correction, vision screening, and referrals. The role ensures effective implementation, scale-up, and quality service delivery to improve the productivity of low-income workers. The Programme Manager will oversee programme operations, partnerships, quality assurance, donor communication and reporting, and strategic alignment with BRAC’s broader health goals and VisionSpring’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the overall implementation of the Power Project in accordance with agreed workplans, targets, and donor requirements.
Provide strategic, operational and technical leadership in designing and scaling up eye care interventions, including vision screening, eyeglass dispensing, and referrals.
Ensure effective planning, coordination, and supervision of project activities across all implementing sites and partners.
Visit field sites to provide supervision, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure service quality.
Contribute to fundraising, proposal development, and advocacy efforts to expand eye care programming within BRAC.
Manage partnerships with VisionSpring, government eye care entities, NGOs, private sector actors and other relevant stakeholders to ensure collaboration and resource optimization.
Ensure capacity building of field teams and partner staff on eye screening protocols, optical standards, and community engagement approaches.
Oversee inventory management and ensure supply chain coordination with donor and relevant stakeholders for optical products, especially reading glasses.
Develop and maintain robust monitoring and reporting systems to track performance indicators, client outcomes, and supply utilization.
Follow up of project activities and budget tracking for ensuring better financial performance of the project
Lead the preparation of periodic narrative and financial reports in collaboration with MEAL and finance teams.
Facilitate visibility, documentation, and communication of project achievements, best practices, and success stories.
Ensure adherence to BRAC’s health standards, ethical practices, and VisionSpring’s optical quality benchmarks.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
