• Graduation /Post-Graduation in Social Science or relevant subject.

• At least 3 years of experience in development organization.

• Knowledge of safety issues concerning children and adolescent.

• Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.

Key Competencies:

• Good understanding of Gender, Gender Based Violence, and prevention.

• Good understanding of child safeguarding and equality for girls.

• Commitment to gender equality, child protection, PSEA and related principles (Desirable).

• Well-organized, self-motivated and ability to work in a team.

Job Context:

Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement Ashroy (Advancing Child Rights for Resilient Growth in Haors of Sylhet District) and Surokkha (Protect the Rights, Promote the Growth) Projects with support from Kindernothilfe (KNH). Both the Projects’ aim is to create a protective, inclusive and enabling environment in Haor and Tea worker communities from Sylhet Sadar, Kanaighat and Jaintapur Upazila where children-especially the most marginalized are safe, respected and supported to reach their full potential. The key changes envisioned are:

• Reduction in violation of Child Rights

• Functional community-based protection mechanism

• Improved Community and Family Practices

• Building agency of adolescents /Stronger Adolescent Participation and Leadership

• Enhanced Access to Protection Services

• Child-centered climate change adaptation and mitigation

• Accountable and Responsive Duty Bearers

• Resilient Systems and Improved Social Norms

The Projects’ period is from April 2026 to December 2030. By the end of these projects, Haor and Tea worker communities will have a reduced incidence of child rights violations, more supportive parenting and household practices and a network of empowered adolescents able to advocate for themselves. Duty bearers will be more responsive and systems for protection more robust and inclusive, ensuring sustainable safeguarding of children beyond the project lifecycle.

Job Summary:

The Program officer will be responsible for the overall field implementation of the project activities in the respective area as per plan. Prepare project activity progress reports and ensure timely submissions to the office.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Provide supportive supervision, guidance, and mentoring to Field Facilitators to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance.

• Monitor Field Facilitators’ performance, ensuring adherence to project standards, timely reporting, and quality of field activities.

• Contribute to capacity building by identifying training needs, facilitating on-the-job coaching, and supporting continuous professional development of Field Facilitators.

• Prepare project activity progress reports and ensure timely submissions to the office.

• Maintain liaison with local and sub-district level stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.

• Any other responsibilities as assigned by the FIVDB authority, beyond those explicitly stated in the JD/ToR
