Job Context:
∎ CWFD emerged from an emotional response to help women in need of reproductive health care counseling. The organization, originally named as "Concerned Women for Family Planning (CWFP), started its voluntary activities in 1974 to help the refugee coming to Dhaka city after the devastating famine of 1974. The organization was registered in 1975 with Directorate of Social welfare and formally launched its project activities in 1976 with only 5 female staff to cover an area of Dhaka city slum comprising around 50,000 people.
∎ Vision Statement: To empower women of Bangladesh to achieve better status within the family and society.
∎ Mission Statement: CWFD is a non-political, non-profit voluntary organization run by women of Bangladesh to support, promote and protect the interest of women in Bangladesh by providing community based health care, empower community to exercise their rights to eliminate social injustice, creating economic opportunities, empower under privileged youth of urban and rural population and develop human resources for a positive social change.
∎ Project Brief: This program was awarded by the Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF) to CWFD to implement at the Dhamoirhat and Badalgachhi Upazilas of Naogaon district. The main concept of the program is to empower women and girls to raise their voices to address the Human Rights and Gender Equality. The name of the MJF project is Women`s Voice and Leadership Bangladesh (WVLB) Project. The CWFD program titled: `Agameer Pothe` and the program goal is: `Enhanced empowerment of women and girls to address violence against women and girls (VAWG) at Naogaon district, Bangladesh`.
∎ Duty station: Jahanpur Union (Mangalbari Bazar), Dhamoirhat Upazila, Naogaon District and have to stay in Jahanpur.
∎ Job Duration: Up to December 2023 (contractual)
∎ Job Location: Upazila level.
∎ Line of responsibility: The Project Coordinator is directly reportable to the CWFD in Dhaka Headquarter.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Establish and maintain regular contacts and key relationships with program partners, local administration at the District and Upazila level, related Govt. officials, Union Parisads, community people and educational institute.
∎ Program planning and implementation and monitoring of project activities under the area of operation.
∎ Financial and Administrative Management of the project including internal control and compliance monitoring.
∎ Documentation and Preparation of different project reports.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 5 years' experience in Managerial position and related experience in implementing, designing and guiding the implementation of the project activities in the rural areas.
∎ Should have knowledge and interest on human rights, gender equality and equity.
∎ Have evidence to work on protecting of women's' rights and prevention of violence against women and girls.
∎ Extensive field visits in rural areas is mandatory.
∎ Experienced in presenting project status in the high level meeting and workshop with the donors; GO & NGO officials.
∎ Good communication skill in English and Bengali; good knowledge on staff supervision, mentoring, coaching and development.
∎ Good skills in computer operation especially with MS Office, (MS-Word, Excel, Power point and spread, internet and email applications; willing to work in pressure situation and interested to visit the remote areas of Bangladesh.
∎ The ability to ride a motorcycle (with valid driving license) will be considered an additional qualification.
Salary:
∎ Monthly Salary: BDT 32,000/-per month
