Responsibilities & Context:

• Research and identify trending, in-demand products suitable for the Bangladesh market - from Chinese platforms (1688, Alibaba, Taobao, TikTok Shop) and local sources/manufacturers

• Manage and oversee the end-to-end procurement process for construction materials, equipment, and services.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.

• Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and purchasing activities to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials in line with project requirements and schedules.

• Coordinate closely with Project, Engineering, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth and efficient material flow.

• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, supplier capacity, and alternative sourcing opportunities to optimize procurement decisions.

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, quality standards, and ethical practices.

• Monitor purchase orders, deliveries, inventory levels, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

• Conduct supplier evaluation and performance reviews and take necessary actions to improve supplier performance.

• Ensure timely processing of supplier bills and resolve discrepancies, if any.

• Prepare and analyze procurement reports, budgets, and cost-related data for management review.

• Support senior management in strategic sourcing, vendor development, cost optimization, and procurement planning.

• Provide guidance and support to procurement team members to ensure effective execution of procurement activities.

• Evaluate product viability: demand, pricing, competition, and profit margin before sourcing

• Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQ), and terms with both international and local suppliers

• Coordinate product sampling and quality checks before bulk ordering

• Build and maintain a reliable network of trusted suppliers, both international and local

• Track early product performance after launch and adjust sourcing decisions accordingly

• Work closely with logistics/import and inventory teams to plan stock levels and timing

• Stay updated on product trends relevant to the Bangladesh e-commerce market

• Familiarity with Chinese sourcing platforms (Alibaba, etc.) is a strong plus

• Understanding of the local Bangladeshi market and existing local suppliers/manufacturers is a plus

• Strong analytical skills - able to research trends and make sourcing decisions based on data

• Good negotiation and communication skills
