Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary:

This position will strategize the entire program for business development for key categories, i.e. Scissors, Cutting Knife, Knife blade, Pin remover, Stapler, Staples, Tape Dispenser, Numbering Machine, Pen Holder, and various types of consumer goods

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Target Vs Achievement:

  • Plan annual sales targets and ensure their achievement through effective execution on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Product Planning & Nomination:

  • Identify and nominate potential new products based on customer needs, industry trends, and innovation opportunities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and build business cases for new product proposals.

Market Survey & Research:

  • Conduct detailed market research, consumer surveys, and competitor benchmarking to gather insights.
  • Analyze customer behaviors, market gaps, and emerging trends to guide product development.

Pricing Strategy:

  • Develop competitive and profitable pricing strategies based on cost analysis, competitor pricing, and customer willingness to pay.
  • Work with finance teams to ensure margins align with company targets.

Promotion & Launch Management:

  • Lead the entire School Activation Team, manage resources, setting up KPIs, follow up on achievements.
  • Design and execute product launch plans, including promotional campaigns, advertising, and communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, product packaging, and POS (Point of Sale) assets.

Competitive Analysis:

  • Continuously monitor the market for competitor activities and performance.
  • Benchmark against competition and adjust strategies proactively to maintain a competitive edge.

Build and Implement Marketing Strategies:

  • Develop annual marketing plans for products, including branding, campaigns, and product positioning.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure marketing effectiveness.

Collaboration with Supply Chain & Operations:

  • Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of products.
  • Plan inventory requirements based on sales forecasts and market demand.

Coordination with Sales Team:

  • Regularly coordinate with regional sales teams to ensure alignment on targets, promotions, and product push strategies.
  • Train sales teams on product features, benefits, and key selling points.

Periodic Market Visits:

  • Conduct regular field visits to markets and distribution points.
  • Assess product visibility, availability, and customer satisfaction firsthand.

Sales Target Achievement:

  • Responsible for category target and co-own the Sales KPIs.
  • Take corrective actions and initiatives if targets are not met.

Distribution House & Stock Management:

  • Visit distribution houses periodically to check stock levels, product availability, and warehouse management practices.
  • Ensure distributors maintain optimum stock levels to avoid out-of-stock situations.

Customer Feedback & Product Improvement:

  • Collect customer feedback systematically from retailers, distributors, and end consumers.
  • Analyze feedback to identify product improvement opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
