• Graduate in Fashion Design, Technical Design or related field from a well reputed institute

• At least 6 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Buying House

• At least 6 years’ work experience as a Designer cum Product Developer in Knits & Woven category, especially with a factory or buying office

• In-depth knowledge of fabric construction, content, and quality for respective product areas in the Knit & Woven category, print types, embroidery types, stitch methods

• In-depth knowledge and work experience on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

• Must have extensive experience of product development, accessories, costing and execution of techpacks independently

• Must have an elevated eye for product aesthetics

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team

• Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic

• Strong presentation and delivery skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection

• Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English

• IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)

• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently

• Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines

Job Context

• The Product Developer will be accountable for initiating, managing and driving the execution of the Design vision in the development of all products for the Knit & Woven categories assigned from raw material inception to pre-production sample (PP) approval. The incumbent will work closely with internal cross-functional partners in Design, Technical Design, and Merchandising on a day-to-day basis and throughout the process to maintain a strong and aligned vision on the product direction from beginning to end.

Job Responsibilities

• Execute and follow-up on developments and sampling up to SMS

• Develop ZXY seasonal collection as well as buyer specific range every season

• Conduct a thorough study of the tech packs received from the customers /senior merchandisers / design department

• Analyze the fabrics, trims and knitting parameters, wash in detail

• Source raw material and further development as needed to meet target raw material price architecture (good, better, best)

• Coordinate with factories and suppliers for any new developments, sourcing and sampling

• Prepare time and action plan (T&A) for customer developments and maintain T&A with the help of account head and merchants and also to update customer on weekly basis

• Create sampling request in MIS, and generate a product file style wise

• Meet deadlines for all developments and samples with the right quality

• Research new fabrics / technology, washing techniques and trims for new developments and samples

• Prepare prior to customer visits by researching customer background, trends, quality requirements, price point etc. and accordingly articulate the presentation during customer visit

• Prepare the showroom prior to customer visits and also attend customer meetings and take visit notes

• Maintain and make available all technical data for Design and Merchandising prior to costing during the development phase

• Prepare and continuously update the fabric, trims, print, embroideries, washes and stitch library including technical data and price ideas for easy reference

• Provide graphics and CAD development/support for new and existing customer

• Conduct risk analysis during product development

• Comment on the accuracy of sample for colors, as well as fabric, print, pattern, embellishment status, and accuracy

• Prepare cost sheet of the product/sample

• Handover the styles to Merchandisers along with all the product details and technical information after any order is confirmed

• Preserve sample data and utilize it during bulk production

• Ensure Fit approval & wearer tests

• Prepare sample plan based on priority and availability

• Communicate about development status with concern Merchandiser/ Designer

• Prepare sample delivery status
