Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS), PhD in Psychology, Medical anthropology, or Social Science
∎ Candidates holding MD degree may apply as well.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Play a key role in day-to-day research activities of the project.
∎ Plan and manage resources of the projects, including budget, procurement and logistics
∎ Help in research ethics and quality assurance including ethical approval and reporting to ethics board
∎ Analyze and resolve research issues that arisen in the field promptly and accurately.
∎ Conduct training to build capacity to the junior staffs
∎ Support and mentoring of research associates, assistants and peer researchers
∎ Recruiting and consenting participants
∎ Co-facilitating participatory action research and training workshops
∎ Analysis of quantitative, qualitative, participatory and ethnographic data
∎ Organizing weekly meetings among the staff and prepare minutes of meetings
∎ Preparation of training materials
∎ Compilation of written and multi-media outputs, including case studies, research papers, reports and blogs
∎ Maintaining social media updates and engaging in media interviews
∎ Presentation at webinars/seminars/conferences
∎ Collation of information and reporting research outputs
∎ Management and storage of research data following data protection guidelines in the UK and Bangladesh
∎ Any other responsibility assigned by the local PI
Additional Requirements:
∎ Previous experience in large scale research grant project.
∎ Candidate of research working experience in the relevant fields, for instance, mental health
∎ Impressive research track record and at least five publications in peer-reviewed journals.
∎ Have experience using data analysis software. For example, SPSS, STATA, nVivo.
∎ Good managerial skills to accomplish the project a project management skill will be added benefit.
∎ Experience conducting qualitative or ethnographic research, including with people with lived experience of mental health conditions
∎ Able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required by the project
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
∎ Good organizational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines
∎ Able to work independently and as part of a team
∎ Experience in supervising junior researchers/assistants
∎ Familiar with research processes, including organizing participant recruitment and consent, data collection, analyzing and secure data management.
∎ Advance fluency in English and Bangla.
∎ Excellent written English. Able to write academic articles and other formats for output, e.g., media articles, policy briefs.
