Position Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and rational use of medicines to support patient care. The role includes prescription review, drug dispensing, inventory management, quality assurance, and compliance with national guidelines and safety standards, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes and coordination with clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Pharmacy Operations & Dispensing
• Dispense medications accurately as per prescription
• Review prescriptions for completeness and appropriateness
• Provide basic drug information and dosage instructions to patients
2. Stock & Inventory Management
• Maintain proper stock of medicines and consumables
• Monitor expiry dates and storage conditions
• Ensure timely procurement and prevent stock-outs
• Maintain inventory records and stock reports
3. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain pharmacy registers and dispensing records
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
• Ensure proper documentation of controlled drugs
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information
4. Storage & Quality Assurance
• Ensure proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cold chain)
• Follow FEFO/FIFO principles
• Monitor drug quality and report any discrepancies
5. Compliance & Safety
• Follow national pharmacy laws and regulations
• Ensure infection prevention and control (IPC) practices
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of pharmacy
• Ensure safe handling and disposal of pharmaceutical waste
6. Patient Care & Communication
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence
• Address patient queries professionally
• Coordinate with doctors and nurses for better patient outcomes
7. Teamwork & Coordination
• Work closely with medical and administrative teams
• Participate in trainings and capacity-building sessions
• Ensure proper duty handover
8. Additional Duties
• Support emergency drug management
• Assist in audits and supervision
• Perform any other task assigned by management
• Willingness to work in shift duty (day/night roster)
