Experience:
Bachelor degree in development studies, Sociology/ Social science, law.
Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in Child protection programs, especially in vulnerable or crisis-affected areas.
Successful in mobilizing community resources and establishing child protection committees or groups.
Knowledgeable about IPT theatre show conduction will be an added value.
Capable of strengthening community structures, such as Disaster Management Committees, to sustain protection efforts.
Able to provide immediate support in an emergency.
Outstanding communication skills.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Bengali. Knowledge of Chattertonian dialects is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Competent in using computer applications, such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), for reporting and data management.
Familiar with case management software or databases, where applicable.
Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <www.ypsa.org>, established in 1985 (International Youth Year) is an organization for sustainable development working in Dhaka Division, Sylhet Division, Chattogram Division including Chittagong Hill Tracts, Cox’s Bazar. YPSA has been implementing a project titled “Integrated Protection and Resilience Interventions for Host community in three subdistricts (Ramu, Ukhiya and Chakaria) of Cox’s Bazar District” since 2020. The project is technically supported by International Rescue Committee (IRC) and funded by US DoS.
Reportable to the Position: Project Officer-Child Protection
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract up to August 2026, with possibility of extension.
Duty Station: MPCCs of Joarianala, Ramu, Cox’s Bazar District

Job Purpose of Para Social Worker:
This Para Social Worker (is highly skilled to provide support to community) will provide advice, support and resources to individuals and families to help them solve their problems. Para Social workers work closely with Department of Social Services officials and with specific groups of clients, including children, the elderly and families in crisis, and help them to solve the problems they're facing work that project implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to assist the Project Officer in client selection following IRC standards and program requirements.
Form different community groups to increase community engagement through child protection activities.
Build rapport with Social Welfare Officers and local government authorities to support the Department of Social Services (DSS) case management process.
Strengthen referral mechanisms through close coordination with DSS officials.
Work collaboratively with WPE, ERD and PRoL staff to design responsive activities for adolescents.
Prepare and maintain detailed work plans to support project implementation.
Conduct regular field visits, identify new cases and monitor child protection situations.
Take immediate action in emergency case management situations.
Analyze community situations regularly and take necessary initiatives.
Conduct monthly, quarterly and yearly meetings with CBCPC and adolescent clubs.
Raise awareness among community members about DSS services and child rights.
Support the formation and activation of Community-Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPC) and adolescent clubs.
Collaborate with local authorities and community leaders for child protection monitoring.
Ensure accurate data collection, reporting and submission to relevant staff.
Monitor daily and weekly data to ensure safe and ethical data management.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans and reports.
Maintain proper administrative and documentation processes.
Work in partnership with NGOs, UN agencies and government bodies for coordinated child protection efforts.
Organize stakeholder meetings and maintain communication with GBV, DRR and Livelihood sectors.
Represent YPSA in coordination meetings and advocate for child protection and well-being.
Safeguarding and PSEA:
Ensure the safety of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation. Promote and implement safeguarding policies and maintain a safe working environment in line with organizational standards.
Monthly Consolidated Salary: 22, 000 BDT
