Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Design and implement advocacy strategies to influence policies related to climate justice, migration, and community resilience.
∎ Facilitate policy dialogues, stakeholder consultations, and public campaigns to promote project goals.
∎ Advocate for the inclusion of loss and damage and climate-induced migration issues.
∎ Engage with local government bodies, CSOs, and policymakers to influence decision-making processes.
∎ Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, research institutions, and private sector actors.
∎ Foster collaborative networks to amplify the voices of climate migrants and vulnerable communities.
∎ Represent the project in multi-stakeholder platforms, forums, and conferences at local, national, and international levels.
∎ Collaborate with partners to develop joint advocacy initiatives and policy briefs.
∎ Promote safe migration practices by raising awareness and disseminating relevant information in climate-vulnerable communities.
∎ Support capacity building of local stakeholders on planned migration, human rights, and climate resilience.
∎ Facilitate dialogues and consultations with climate migrants, community leaders, and policymakers.
∎ Support project team members in facilitating events at the community level.
∎ Conduct training and mentorship programs to strengthen team capabilities.
∎ Develop training materials, handouts, modules, and guidelines as required.

∎ Uttaran is a national development organization working in the coastal region of Bangladesh since 1985 to uphold rights and entitlements and to improve the socio-economic condition of the poor and disadvantaged. Uttaran facilitates in getting access to and control over resources by the poor and disadvantaged to improve agricultural productivity and economic empowerment.
∎ Uttaran with technical support from HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Bangladesh will collaborate to implement the “Actions to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS) Project” in the southwestern coastal region of Bangladesh. This partnership aims to enhance capacities in adaptation, disaster risk management, climate-induced migration, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), livelihood, soil, and food security through mutual capacity-strengthening programs and knowledge-sharing activities. Together, they will explore, pilot, and disseminate innovative technologies and methodologies while engaging in advocacy efforts to promote their adoption.
∎ Uttaran invites applications for the position titled Officer - Advocacy, Networking, and Migration for the Actions to Climate Change Ensuring Sustainable Solutions (ACCESS) project. The Officer - Advocacy, Networking, and Migration will play a crucial role in driving policy influence, building strategic partnerships, and promoting climate justice and safe migration initiatives. This role involves engaging with local and national stakeholders, facilitating advocacy campaigns, and supporting the integration of migration issues into climate resilience strategies.

∎ Job Description
