A Reputed Hospital is seeking an experienced and competent Nursing Supervisor/Matron to lead and manage the overall nursing services of the hospital. The role demands strong leadership, operational control, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of patient care, discipline, and clinical safety.
Core Responsibilities (Essential Role of Matron)
🔷 Nursing Leadership & Administration (Core Function)
Lead and supervise all nursing staff across OPD, IPD, OT, ICU, and Emergency
Ensure proper duty roster, shift management, and manpower planning
Maintain discipline, punctuality, and professional conduct among nursing staff
Act as the central coordination point between doctors, nurses, and management
🔷 Patient Care Quality & Safety (Critical Responsibility)
Ensure high standards of patient care and nursing practices
Monitor patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction
Supervise nursing procedures and ensure adherence to clinical protocols
Address and resolve patient complaints related to nursing services
🔷 Infection Control & Clinical Compliance (Mandatory Area)
Ensure strict implementation of infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols
Monitor sterilization, hygiene, and waste management practices
Ensure compliance with hospital SOPs, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
🔷 Nursing Team Development & Supervision
Supervise, guide, and evaluate nursing staff performance
Conduct training, mentoring, and skill development programs
Ensure proper onboarding and continuous development of nursing staff
🔷 Documentation & Reporting
Ensure accurate nursing documentation and patient records
Maintain reports on incidents, patient care quality, and nursing performance
Support hospital audits, inspections, and accreditation processes
Have to maintain the chain to superior management
To ensure improvement of the daily reporting system
🔷 Inventory & Resource Management
Monitor usage of medicines, consumables, and nursing equipment
Ensure proper stock management and coordination with store/procurement
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of clinical tools and equipment
🔷 Emergency & Critical Care Oversight
Ensure nursing readiness for emergency and critical situations
Supervise emergency response and critical patient handling
Support clinical teams during OT procedures and high-risk cases
