Job Context

Ensure excellent service standards, maintain quality, respond efficiently to patient needs and develop patient satisfaction as well as manage all subordinate staff in terms of administration and profession.

Job Responsibilities:

• 1. Immediately after admission clinically Examining all patients under your jurisdiction in consultation with the concerned consultant.

• 2. Preparing a complete clinical record of the patient after taking the history of illness.

• 3. Preparing a treatment sheet together with a complete requisition of investigations in consultation with the concerned consultant.

• 4. Undertaking immediate necessary measures to primarily manage a patient even if the consultant can’t be reached over phone.

• 5. Arranging a complete counseling for the patient and attendant in terms of the patient`s clinical status.

• 6. Responding immediately to the call of the patient while on duty.

• 7. Ensuring availability at the doctor’s desk during the whole tenure of working hours (excepting lunch/dinner and prayer gap).

• 8. Explaining the clinical status of the patient when asked by the consultant during his/her visit physically/virtually. Preserving all test reports of patients in due order in the file.

• 9. Ensuring regular examination of patient’s surgical wounds, dressing, catheter, I/V canula, drain tube, nasal oxygen canula and all other attachments with a patient under treatment at least twice during duty hours. Report any abnormality immediately to consultant and take remedial measures.

• 10. Preparing Preoperative order for all patients requiring surgical intervention.

• 11. Checking regularly the compliance of the on-duty nurse with respect to treatment order of the patient.

• 12. Preparing blood requisition/Cross Matching document in compliance with standard regimen.

• 13. Supervising strictly blood/FFP/Platelet/Packed cell transfusion.

• 14. Arranging On-call visiting Specialist and external referral for patients to other organization when required.

• 15. Adhering strictly with the duty roster when placed in post operative ward.

• 16. Preparing discharge certificate for all patient in consultation with the respective consultant.

• 17. Taking all-out effort to control nosocomial infection and improve quality of healthcare service.

• 18. Complying with any other assignment entrusted by the authority in the interest of patients.
