Job Context:
∎ Handicap International is looking for Nurse for its GAC funded project named "Emergency Protection, Psychosocial support and Sexual Reproductive Health services for vulnerable population in Cox`s Bazaar district and ECHO funded project named "Emergency Protection, Psychosocial support and Health services (for vulnerable population in Cox`s Bazar district, Bangladesh, 2020-2021)"
∎ The Nurse will be provide health screening, basic wound care, health promotion, SRH services, and ensure necessary referrals to health centres for Rohingya community.

∎ LIne Manager: Team Manager (Mobile Unit)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ FOLLOWING THE PROFESSIONAL REGULATIONS FOR NURSING CARE IN BANGLADESH, THE NURSE WILL:
∎ IDENTIFICATION OF BENEFICIARIES
∎ Contribute to the identification of persons with medical needs through house to house visits;
∎ Medical screening of beneficiaries, including checking vital signs;
∎ Assessment of the main medical needs of the person;
∎ Guide volunteers, during identification/mobilization exercise.
∎ NURSING CARE
∎ Provide wound care for minor wounds and bedsores, care for skin infections, dressing for burns and fractures, management of initial stages of acute watery diarrohea.
∎ Provide follow-up care, as necessary;
∎ Provide health promotion messages, including advice to pregnant women and hygiene promotion;
∎ Assist the patients in understanding their condition, recommendation as well as teaching patient, friends, and family to understand self-care skills; answering questions;
∎ Update beneficiary files on the service provided in close consultation other mobile unit team members.
∎ SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
∎ Provide rationale for decisions that affect care and enable to make informed choices about their sexuality and sexual and reproductive health and family planning;
∎ Provide quality maternal and newborn health services incluing maternal health care counseling on three board aspect such as general counseling, birth plannng counseling and advice on after delivery;
∎ Maintain records of SRH & Family Planning related materials and statistics as required;
∎ Supervise community awareness activity and ensure that appropriate messaging are delivered to the community by SRH community health workers (sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV, and incidence of violence against women and early marriage to reducing the vulnerability of women, among family and community members, including young people);
∎ Supervise community health workers, and provide continuous mentorship to ensure the quality of their services provided;
∎ Support in awareness raising of community leaders, mahjis on SRHR specific topics.
∎ REFERRAL AND FOLLOW-UP
∎ Support the Team Manager in mapping the existing health services in the area of intervention;
∎ Ensure internal/external referrals and follow-up, gathering feedback on service provided for documentation with a stong link with health center and ambulance provided in the respective camps for easy referral of cases;
∎ Communicate and link with other members of the mobile team, regarding internal referrals (PSS, protection, rehabilitation and social workers), ensuring a comprehensive approach;
∎ Support in development of IEC material as the project need;
∎ Be responsible and accountable for the patient care, providing health support services to the beneficiaries/patients referred to the selected secondary and tertiary health facilities;
∎ Proper documentation and reporting as required by HI.
∎ CONDUCT
∎ Demonstrate an ethic and professional practice;
∎ Respect beneficiary confidentiality;
∎ Complies with all health and safety procedures to ensure their own safety and the safety of others in the workplace;
∎ Respect and promote HI's Policies and report to your line manager any non respect of HI's policies amongst the teams or partners;
∎ Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others;
∎ Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers;
∎ Always ask the permission to touch or to apply any treatment or mobilizations to someone.
∎ Always respect a refusal of treatment;
∎ Work with the best of knowledge and abilities to offer a good quality nursing treatment.
Additional Requirements:

∎ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

∎ Registered with a valid registration number issued by Bangladesh Nursing Council;
∎ At least 2 years of work experience in hospital or equivalent setting;
∎ Computer knowledge (MS office package- both in English and Bangla).
