• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Engineering

• Graduate in Apparel Merchandising, Textile Technology or equivalent from a well reputed institution

• At least 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Buying House

• At least 5 years’ merchandising experience in a reputed buying office or factory in Sweaters working with Retail brands like NEXT.

• Must have extensive experience of product development, sourcing of materials, costing, production tracking and order execution

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a team

• Should be well-groomed, smart and energetic

• Strong presentation and delivery skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection

• Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English

• Proficiency is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)

• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently

• Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines

Technical Job Requirements

• Profound knowledge of Sweater garment engineering and production processes is required

• Have sound knowledge of yarns and an excellent network of yarn, print, embroidery & trims suppliers

• Should be able to source and develop new products independently

• Should have excellent understanding of Sweater technical / production process

• Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.

• Must be capable to handle buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude

• Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures

• Good understanding of core business aspects

• Should have the ability to effectively communicate for raw materials, booking and delivery

Job Context

• The Merchandiser holds the accountability for working closely with team from product development and sampling stage till shipment ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely dispatch in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently execute Sweater product development, understand latest fashion trends, source new yarns, and develop customer specific collections.

• Ensure smooth communication with customers and suppliers on day-to-day merchandising activities and approvals.

• Understand customer requirements and work closely with the design team to manage the correct samples within time and quality.

• Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.

• Ensure production and samples follow up with factories and related procedures.

• Communicate with buyers on day-to-day merchandising activities and approvals.

• Prepare the QA files for on time handover for both buyers and ZXY QA

• Source trims, accessories, and fabrics (both overseas and local)

• Prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factories.

• Arrange lab dip, trims, bulk fabric color, and quality testing for customer approval.

• Work closely with the suppliers ahead of design packs to reduce lead time.

• Follow up TNA on a regular basis to ensure on-time delivery with the right quality and quantity.

• Visit factories regularly to get market intelligence.

• Coordinate and monitor the quality of the product through quality personnel.

• Place forwarder booking through logistics and monitor the shipment of the products.

• Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.
