Job Responsibilities:
∎ Business Acumen:
∎ Manage regional team with proper planning, allocation, conduct, review and reporting of merchandising activities within product area to meet or exceed budgeted sales and ensure on time shipment delivery.
∎ Develop regionally focused sourcing plans to support product portfolio strategies.
∎ Manage a regional supplier base through building and maintaining productive working relationships.
∎ Leadership:
∎ Manage, develop, and coach merchandise and other team members across regional offices to achieve higher levels of overall performance.
∎ Align merchandise team goals and merchandiser's behaviors with Kmart business strategy and individual performance objectives.
∎ Operational Excellence:
∎ Provide timely and professional communication to all key internal and external stakeholders on merchandising team performance.
∎ Manage a supplier base through building and maintaining productive working relationships.
∎ Organize, plan, deliver and report on projects in line with business requirement.
∎ Strategic Planning:
∎ Influence, manage and develop the department strategy.
∎ Set the budgets for the required variables at the required planning levels.
∎ Influence the sourcing strategy to deliver required outcomes involving key supplier strategy sessions.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ At least 12 years of professional experience in a global retail brand.
∎ Proven leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
∎ Ability to translate product trends to Australian market.
∎ Sound knowledge of merchandising systems and procedures.
∎ High commercial aptitude, financial management and business planning skills.
∎ Understanding of cultural differences across regions.
∎ Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage major suppliers.
