Job Responsibilities:
∎ Participate in the planning, organization and coordination of Mental Health activities, in close collaboration with the Mental Health activity manager and other medical team members, in order to ensure an efficient and effective implementation of the resources needed while maintaining high levels of quality in Mental Health MSF programs and activities.
∎ Supervise the daily mental health activities and patient support according to MSF protocols and standards in order to provide the most appropriate support for clients with psycho social needs
∎ Liaise with the other MSF team members of the project.
∎ Coordinates activities of counselling services with other relevant actors and liaises with the local counterparts (like MoH, WHO, ICRC and NGO) on mental health matters, including referral services.
∎ Supervise, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
∎ Oversee the administrative processes associated with psychosocial functioning.
∎ When needed, give psychological support to patients according to MSF protocols to improve mental health conditions of patients and enhance their functionality.
∎ Compile the data and statistic linked with MH activities and report to the MH activity manager
∎ Offer clinical counselling supervision to mental health counsellors in collaboration with the Mental Health Activity Manager.
∎ Ensure the patient’s related information is kept confidential.
∎ MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
∎ Ensures daily MH activities in Maternity Unit, SGBV department, and all other BKL SPOPD services.
∎ Ensures MH intervention as part of SGBV treatment. Maintain collaboration with SGBV department and ensures reporting of data.
∎ Ensures the quality of MH activities in IPDs, Maternity Unit and all other hospital services patient file optimization and sensitization/awareness of red flags.
∎ Communicates regularly with MHAM about operations, challenges, updates, trainings, high-risk cases, and staff related issues. Will also provide handover information to MHS and MHAM when going for training or annual leave.
∎ Ensures organization and provision of daily psychoeducation in BKL SPOPD waiting areas.
∎ Ensures quality of MH activities and, in collaboration with MHAM, develops strategies to improve the quality of MH treatment and access to mental health treatment.
∎ Oversees the administrative processes associated with SPOPD Mental Health team.
∎ Ensures proper note taking and documentation according to case definition in client files and IPDs patient files.
∎ Ensures quality of treatment for SV-IPV patients, and improve access of care, screening of SV patients, in collaboration with SGBV department.
∎ In collaboration with MHS, reviews mental health and psychosocial education messages/topics used in psychosocial activities and ensure that all messages are in accordance with MSF protocols and best practice
∎ Provides psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, group) to patients according to MSF protocols when cases require more advanced psychological assessment and interventions.
∎ Is aware of the high-risk patients and provide supervision, support and monitor the outcome of the counselor’s intervention.
∎ In collaboration with MHS, supportsreferral of counseling and psychiatric patients to Social Workers for defaulter tracing, home visits, and patient assistance.
∎ Collaborates with MHS to provide social workers and health promters trainings that improve skills and knowledge..
∎ Collaborates with the medical team and partners in ways that safeguards the beneficiary (safety, choices, confidentiality)
∎ To manage time in a manner that facilitates timely follow-up with supervisees on administrative concerns and patient care.
∎ In collaboration with HA department, monitors incoming and outgoing referrals to other health actors and protection agencies for counseling patients.
∎ Ensures precise and reliable reporting of mental health activities on weekly and monthly basis, using existing data collection tools. Compile the data and necessary statistics linked with MH activities.
∎ Analyses and interprets the mental health data, and prepares MMR for BKL SOPD
∎ Implements and supervises correct use of diagnostic & treatment protocols according to MSF clinical guidelines, in collaboration with MHAM.
∎ Participates in evaluation of counsellors, as well as identification of training needs for his/her team in collaboration with HR/Admin department.
∎ Participates and support the daily morning meeting in MH department.
∎ Leads weekly trainings and group supervision of the staff members for quality improvement
∎ Leads monthly individual supervision of all the staff members for quality improvement.
∎ Collaborates with the medical team and partners in ways that safeguards the beneficiary (safety, choices, confidentiality) and improve the holistic care approach.
∎ Organize/ attend conferences and meetings as MSF representative with other relevant actors and liaises with the local counterparts (when appropriate)
∎ Organize training sessions and support sensitization sessions for MSF staff in order to improve staff skills and referral of patients with MH needs.
∎ Supervise, organize and coache counselors on performance improvement, data collection, collaboration with other departments.
∎ In collaboration with MHS, provides supervision, trainings and coaching for new counsellor, social workers, and health promoters.
∎ Assesses the need for supply and MH forms and prepares supply requests
∎ Supports the role of the MHS on days when he/she is absent.
∎ Will be adaptable and flexible to changes and needs of the project and MH department strategy

∎ Computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

Salary:
∎ Contract length: Six months (06 Months with 3 months probationary period)
Benefits: Salary according to level Eight (08) of the internal MSF salary grid. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents
