Responsibilities & Context:

MICU:

  1. Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the MICU, ensuring timely and evidence-based medical interventions.

  2. Supervise and adjust ventilators, infusion pumps, and other life-support equipment, ensuring optimal patient stability and response.

  3. Collaborate closely with consultants, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

  4. Maintain detailed and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in compliance with hospital protocols.

  5. Act promptly during medical emergencies (e.g., code blue), perform necessary procedures (such as intubation, central line insertion if trained), and ensure adherence to ICU protocols and patient safety standards.

Emergency:

  1. Perform immediate evaluation of patients presenting to the Emergency Department, prioritize cases based on severity, and initiate timely management.

  2. Diagnose and manage acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions, ensuring prompt stabilization before admission, referral, or discharge.

  3. Carry out essential emergency procedures such as suturing, wound care, intubation (if trained), resuscitation, and trauma management in accordance with clinical protocols.

  4. Liaise with consultants, specialists, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care, timely referrals, and appropriate admissions or transfers.

  5. Accurately document patient history, treatment, and outcomes while ensuring adherence to hospital policies, legal requirements, and patient safety standards.
