The ideal candidate should have experience supporting patients with chronic conditions and collaborating with physicians as part of a medically supervised care program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct nutritional assessments based on medical history, laboratory results, medications, lifestyle, food preferences, and treatment goals.

  • Develop personalized meal plans for patients with:

    • Obesity and metabolic syndrome

    • Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance

    • PCOS and hormonal disorders

    • Hypertension and cardiovascular risk

    • Fatty liver disease

    • High cholesterol and triglycerides

    • Thyroid disorders

    • Gastrointestinal conditions

    • Kidney-related dietary restrictions

  • Curate condition-specific meals, recipes, portion sizes, ingredient lists, and preparation guidelines.

  • Design meal plans suitable for Bangladeshi food habits, budgets, and locally available ingredients.

  • Support patients enrolled in medical weight-management and GLP-1 programs.

  • Adjust meal plans to manage reduced appetite, nausea, constipation, protein requirements, and other nutrition-related treatment concerns.

  • Provide one-to-one nutrition counselling and conduct regular follow-up sessions.

  • Monitor patient adherence, weight, measurements, symptoms, and relevant health indicators.

  • Coordinate with physicians and other clinical team members to ensure nutrition plans align with the patient’s medical treatment.

  • Develop standardized meal-plan templates, nutrition guides, grocery lists, and patient education materials.

  • Train meal-preparation or food-service partners on portion control, food safety, and clinical nutrition requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.

  • Participate in educational content, workshops, webinars, and patient-support programs when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related discipline.

  • Professional training or certification in clinical nutrition or dietetics is preferred.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital, specialized clinic, diabetes centre, weight-management program, or therapeutic meal service.

  • Demonstrated experience creating meal plans for patients with chronic medical conditions.

  • Strong understanding of therapeutic nutrition, calorie and macronutrient planning, portion control, and food–medication considerations.

  • Familiarity with GLP-1–based weight-management programs is an advantage.

  • Ability to translate clinical requirements into realistic and enjoyable meals using locally available foods.

  • Strong communication, counselling, documentation, and patient-management skills.

  • Fluency in Bangla and working proficiency in English.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Empathetic, patient-focused, and comfortable working with people who have struggled with long-term weight or chronic illness.

  • Uses evidence-based nutrition practices rather than fad diets or unsupported supplements.

  • Capable of balancing medical requirements with taste, convenience, culture, and affordability.

  • Organized, accountable, and comfortable working within a multidisciplinary clinical team.

  • Experience working with commercial kitchens, meal-preparation companies, or medically tailored meal-delivery programs would be highly valued.
