1. Conduct daily ward and cabin rounds to assess, diagnose, treat, and monitor admitted patients under the supervision of the Consultant, ensuring appropriate and evidence-based patient management.

2. Respond promptly to medical emergencies in the General Ward and Cabin, initiate immediate life-saving treatment, and coordinate with senior physicians for further management.

3. Provide effective counselling and regular updates to patients’ parents/guardians and attendants regarding the patient’s condition, treatment plan, prognosis, and discharge planning.

4. Maintain clear, professional, and effective communication with Consultants, nursing staff, supporting staff, colleagues, patients, attendants, and other relevant departments to ensure safe, timely, and coordinated patient care.

5. Prepare and maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation, including admission notes, progress notes, treatment orders, investigation requests, referral notes, and discharge summaries.

6. Work four (04) duties per week, with each duty being 12 hours, totaling 16 duties per month, as per the duty roster..

7. Ensure proper handover of patients, ongoing treatment, investigations, critical information, and pending clinical issues to the incoming Medical Officer/concerned team at the end of each shift.

8. Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control (IPC) guidelines, patient safety standards, hospital policies, clinical protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

9. Perform shift, night, weekend, and public holiday duties as assigned by the Hospital Management and remain available for emergency patient-care requirements when necessary.

10. Maintain professional conduct, confidentiality, discipline, and ethical standards while performing all assigned clinical responsibilities.

11. Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, quality-improvement activities, and other departmental activities as required by the Hospital Management.

12. Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Hospital Management from time to time.
