Experience:
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated NICU Nurse to join our specialized neonatal care team. In this role, you will provide critical, round-the-clock nursing care to premature, critically ill, or medically fragile newborns. You will work closely with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, respiratory therapists, and families to ensure the highest standard of clinical excellence and emotional support during vulnerable early stages of life.
Continuous Assessment: Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, heart rates, and neurological status of premature or critically ill newborns continuously using advanced monitoring equipment.
Medication & Therapy Administration: Calculate, prepare, and administer specialized medications, intravenous (IV) fluids, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and blood products accurately via specialized neonatal infusion lines.
Respiratory Support: Manage and maintain mechanical ventilators, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and oxygen therapy systems, routinely assessing endotracheal tube placement and airway patency.
Procedural Assistance: Assist neonatologists and pediatricians with complex medical procedures, such as umbilical line insertions, chest tube placements, lumbar punctures, and intubations.
Thermoregulation & Development: Maintain optimal thermal regulation using incubators and warmers, and implement neuro-protective and developmental care practices (e.g., minimizing light and sound, encouraging gentle positioning).
Parental Education & Support: Guide parents through the overwhelming NICU environment, teaching them about their baby's condition, feeding techniques (breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, tube-feeding), developmental milestones, and home-care readiness.
Emotional Guidance: Provide empathetic communication and reassurance to families experiencing high stress, anxiety, or grief.
Discharge Planning: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate safe transition-to-home plans, follow-up appointments, and necessary home medical equipment.
Accurate Record-Keeping: Maintain meticulous, real-time electronic health records (EHR) detailing clinical observations, interventions, medication administration, and feeding outputs.
Infection Control: Adhere strictly to sterile techniques, hand hygiene, and isolation protocols to protect immunocompromised infants from hospital-acquired infections.
Emergency Response: Act swiftly and decisively during neonatal code blues, resuscitations, and sudden clinical deteriorations.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum of 1 years of clinical nursing experience, with preferred specialized rotation or experience in a Level II NICU, pediatric, or maternal-child unit.
