Experience:
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from a recognized institution.
Postgraduate training/certification in one or more relevant specialties (ICU/Critical Care, Anaesthesia/Emergency Medicine/Obs-Gynae/Emergency Obstetric Care/Medicine/Paediatrics/Neonatal Care/Surgery) from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in relevant specialty, with preference for candidates with multi-department exposure.
Proven ability to perform emergency procedures independently (e.g., LSCS, D&C, intubation, advanced life support).
Experience working in high-pressure and resource-limited environments.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Excellent teamwork, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
1. Patient Consultation & Clinical Care
o Conduct comprehensive medical consultations for admitted patients in ICU, Obs-Gynae ward, and Emergency Department, including history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
o Provide outpatient and emergency consultations in line with good clinical practice, ensuring accurate assessment of patient conditions and timely initiation of investigations, interventions, or referrals.
o Monitor and review patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed and ensuring continuity of care.
2. Emergency & Critical Care Management
o Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including obstetric emergencies, trauma cases, acute medical conditions, and critically ill patients.
o Perform or assist in emergency obstetric and surgical procedures (e.g., LSCS, MR, D&C, assisted vaginal delivery) and critical care interventions (e.g., airway management, resuscitation, invasive monitoring).
o Stabilize critically ill patients in ICU and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
3. Coordination & Referrals
o Liaise with consultants and other specialists (Medicine, Surgery, Anaesthesia, ICU, etc.) for complicated cases.
o Prepare and present relevant patient updates and case summaries during medical board meetings or multidisciplinary rounds.
o Arrange and facilitate referrals to higher-level facilities when necessary.
4. Preoperative, Operative & Postoperative Care
o Contribute to the preparation and management of OT medicines, surgical instruments, and other preoperative requirements.
o Provide postoperative follow-up, pain management, wound care, and recovery monitoring.
5. Patient Education & Communication
o Keep patients and their families informed about diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and necessary follow-up care.
o Offer counselling on health conditions, treatment compliance, bereavement, and preventive health measures.
o Provide health education at discharge and support behaviour change communication.
6. Data Management & Reporting
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient data, disease profiles, and treatment outcomes.
o Participate in hospital audits, quality improvement initiatives, and reporting requirements as directed.
7. Training & Capacity Building
o Coach and mentor junior doctors, nurses, and other health staff on clinical protocols and best practices.
o Participate in drills, emergency preparedness activities, and health campaigns organized by the facility or health authorities.
8. Other Duties
o Support emergency and disaster response efforts as assigned.
o Undertake other tasks delegated by the supervisor in line with the scope of work.
