∎ POSITION OVERVIEW
∎ We are looking for a Medical Assistant (MA) who is energetic, disciplined and proactive with a strong understanding of health, NCD, community outreach, public health research, and basic administrative management.
∎ To be successful as a MA he/she needs to have a strong knowledge to work in health services, nutrition and health/hygiene of adolescent girls including awareness creation on public health issues.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Medical Assistant reports to CC and PC in performance of duties and devotes time as per following broad headings:
∎ 1. Patient Management and Care Services (80%)
∎ The Medical Assistant (MA) will be responsible for managing and treating patients with general health issues.
∎ He/she is responsible for ensuring high quality and respectful clinical service delivery.
∎ MA will conduct counseling sessions and link up beneficiaries with MHPSS services.
∎ To achieve the target and desired impact, the MA will play a role in cooperation with the outreach team and will work to coordination with the care, treatment and support service providers.
∎ MA will work closely with the peer outreach worker for follow-up cases, updating the failures of results and guide them where necessary.
∎ The Medical Assistant will report to the Project Coordinator for management and admin aspects and will be answerable to CC for professional quality services.
∎ The Medical Assistant will be responsible for submitting clinical reports and help data entry to MIS staff under close supervision of the MERA.
∎ 2. Networking: (10% of time)
∎ Visit, as per the plan of CC and PC, local Govt. admin authorities, NGOs/INGOs and stakeholders to build rapport and understanding
∎ Attend in-house and represent MedGlobal outside meetings as required.
∎ Follow up with headquarter staff after attending meetings;
∎ Explore prospective opportunities for partnership with the health sector, UN agencies or others.
∎ 3. Others: (10% of time)
∎ Contribute in developing and updating organizational medical documents/records
∎ Complete administrative tasks as given by PC
∎ Keep your work station clean at all times.
∎ Work in close liaison with the other departments and submit periodical reports, in time.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Skills
∎ Working experience in clinic and HP/PHC
∎ Fluency in Bangla and English and effective communication skill (verbal/nonverbal)
∎ Willingness to travel (at least 30% of time) in field areas, proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and Google suit
∎ Qualifications and Experience
∎ Qualification
∎ Minimum graduate from a Govt. recognized MATS or any other govt. recognized equivalent institution.
∎ Certification and education/training on maternity, clinic management, nutrition, health, Family Planning will be preferred.
∎ Experience
∎ A minimum of 1+ years of working experience at INGO/NGO., especially in FDMN camp.
∎ Experience in training facilitation and strong interpersonal communication skill with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels.
∎ An individual with frequent traveling experience is necessary.
∎ Experience in working in Cox's Bazar area will be an advantage.
