One of the following is typically required:
MBBS degree with postgraduate qualification in Radiology or Sonology e.g - Diploma in Medical Ultrasonography (DMU)/ Advanced Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (ADMU), MD / MPhil in Radiology & Imaging, Diploma in Sonology (DS)
Valid registration with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in diagnostic ultrasound.
Experience in humanitarian, NGO, or camp settings is an asset.
Good knowledge of obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound protocols.
Familiarity with portable ultrasound equipment and low-resource settings preferred.
Skills:
Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Compassionate attitude with cultural sensitivity.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases efficiently.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Bangla (Rohingya language is an advantage).

Additional Requirements:
Provide basic clinical consultation and emergency care to patients when the Medical Officer is unavailable or in emergency situations.
Support the medical team in triage, stabilization, and referral of critical cases as needed.
Collaborate with other clinicians to ensure continuity of care and timely response to patient needs.
Participate in emergency medical response and outbreak management activities when required.
Must be ready to accept additional responsibilities as given by the supervisor and ready to work beyond working hours, at times, for the greater interest of the organization as and when needed.
Willingness and ability to travel as required.

JOB SUMMARY: A Sonologist - Medical Officer/Project Coordinator is a qualified medical professional specialized in performing and interpreting ultrasound imaging studies. The role involves carrying out diagnostic sonography procedures, analyzing the results, and assisting in patient diagnosis and treatment planning in collaboration with referring physicians.
The Sonologist (Medical Officer) will report to the Country Representative for the required activities and management for professional matters
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
List down the main responsibilities of the position
Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including
Perform ultrasound examinations (e.g., abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, thyroid, and other diagnostic scans as required).
Ability to see patients on a regular basis as per the organizational requirement.
Interpret ultrasound findings and prepare accurate and timely reports for referring clinicians.
Ensure proper documentation and patient record management in accordance with facility protocols.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure safety, hygiene, and calibration standards are met.
Support clinicians in diagnosis and treatment planning based on imaging findings.
Provide counseling and brief explanations to patients regarding procedures, maintaining patient privacy and comfort.
Participate in case discussions, morbidity meetings, and continuous medical education (CME) sessions.
Ensure adherence to medical ethics and confidentiality standards.
Comply with infection prevention and control (IPC) measures and organizational clinical protocols.
Networking: (5% of time) Visit local Govt. admin authorities, NGOs/INGOs, and stakeholders, with the prior permission of CR and MC to build rapport and understanding. Refer patients to a higher facility as necessary
Others: (5% of time) Attend in-house and outside training as directed by the CR and MC. Keep the workstation neat, clean, and tidy always. Work in close liaison with the MC and PC and submit periodical reports. Attending meetings as directed by the CR.
