• Essential: Medical doctor (MBBS Degree with Valid and Updated BMDC registration Certificate)
• Desirable: Specialization or Training in Tropical Medicine or Related Studies.

- Coordinating, assessing and supervising the proper functioning of the medical activities (HIV, TB STIs, SGBV, etc.), according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures and through the correct compilation and analysis of medical data regarding patients’ health conditions.
- Participating in the definition of annual planning and budget for the project and in the follow up of the programs / project. Supervising and ensuring that medical activities objectives under his/her responsibility are achieved, reporting to the technical referent any problem arising in the service
- Checking all administrative procedures related to patients’ follow-up (individual card filling, registers, paper exit, discharge, transfers ...) are carried out correctly and according to MSF procedures.
- Ensuring an efficient pharmacy management and monitoring the rational use of them. In coordination with the project biomedical service supervising the appropriate use of medical devices and anticipating future needs. Preparing the medical orders needed to implement the medical activities under his/her responsibility, and identifying and reporting to the line manager, non-medical support needs (material, infrastructure, transport, etc.)
- Coordinating and monitoring the daily working plan of the team under his/her responsibility (absent personnel, vacations, tracking leaves ...). Participating in shifts and replaces a doctor, if necessary
- Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility in order to improve staff capabilities and to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
- Participating in the monthly reports according to guidelines (i.e. SitReps, medical statistical reports, etc.).
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
• Supervising the clinical activities of the assigned department(s), with an emphasis on person-centered care.
• Implementing and overseeing adherence to diagnostic, management, and treatment protocols and SOPs (MSF and national), which includes judicious use of diagnostic tests, compliance with infection prevention and control (IPC) measures, and admission and referral criteria.
• Steering the clinical team working in his/her department daily, in collaboration with other medical and paramedical teams.
• Taking part in daily ward rounds and other patient care activities. Discussing critical and challenging cases in his/her department, escalating to HCL or Telemedicine where relevant Collaborating closely with IMS MDs and HCL (and Advisors) to optimize clinical practice and management.
• Responsible for the quality of care in collaboration with the nursing team, other medical and paramedical staff, and hospital management.
• Promoting patient safety and quality culture in their department(s) and among their team, which includes receiving reports on medical incidents, ensuring immediate management andopen disclosure, conducting analysis, creating improvement plans and reporting MIRs to the system.
• Identifying and organizing morbidity and mortality reviews.
• Monitoring the bed capacity and the bed occupancy rate, especially in the department(s) under their responsibililty, but also other departments as needed (e.g. during on-call).
• Ensuring notification of communicable diseases subject to surveillance (measles, meningitis, Cholera, Diptheria, AJS, AWD, TB,etc) reported in their department(s). Ensuring complete collection and management of relevant data.
• Closely collaborating with the other MAMs for efficient leadership of the MDs, MAs and radiology technicians, especially related to their roster, training schedule and leave management.
• Identifying training needs and development opportunities of the medical team and follow up on their application of learning. Prepare and provide trainings and clinical discussions, especially for topics relevant to their department(s) and identified gaps. Onboarding of new team members.
• Supporting other departments in the absence of the responsible MAMs.
• Supporting the clinical team outside office hours (at night, during weekends and public holidays) through on-call support.
• Organizing department and team meetings to facilitate discussions and agreements that support smooth operations in the department.
• Responding to EPREP activities and mass casualty incidents in the Hospital.
• Ensuring continuous practice of antimicrobial stewardship in the department, in collaboration with the relevant focal point(s).
• Mentoring and performance management for the assigned team.
This is a Short-Term Contract with specific contract duration to cover Maternity Leave.
• Salary according to Level 11 of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 192000/- gross, before seniority and income tax deduction).
• Salary is not negotiable.
• 2 annual leave days per month worked.
