Experience:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in national or international organizations in development communication is required.
Proven ability to develop content.
Social media management (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram), experience with online acquisition and reporting tools (Facebook Insights, Google Analytics), digital design and development etc.
Ability to work under pressure.
Networking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Good written communications skills, with ability to adapt style to suit different communications media and audiences.
Good computer skills (Windows, spread sheets, word processing, designing & media related software etc.).
Good photography and videography skills.
Advanced knowledge of written and spoken English & Bangla.
Willingness to travel and work in remote areas.
Bachelor/Master’s degree in any subject from a reputed university preferably in media and journalism, social science, anthropology, and other related discipline is required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Media and Communication Officer will work under the direct oversight of Ashshash’s Awareness and Prevention Partner (APP) across Dhaka, Narsingdi and Manikganj district. The Media and Communication Officer will assist the Project Coordinator in implementing project activities to ensure that the local communities are aware and trained on the prevention of human trafficking. The Media and Communication Officer is responsible for overall media and communication related activities of the project by coordinating with Project Coordinator and others relevant personnel. The Media and Communication Officer must ensure compliance with Winrock International’s ‘Code of Conduct’ and ‘Do No Harm Policy’, whilst maintaining privacy and confidentiality of information respective to each survivor.
Provide support and lead (where required) in developing high-quality communication content for both internal and external use, ensuring timely production of IEC/BCC materials, infographics, newsletters, and advocacy briefs.
Provide support and lead (where required) to Legal Impact Hub activities including residential trainings, validation workshops, national consultations, conferences (including transcript preparation and post-event briefs,) and policy advocacy related engagement.
Develop communication-centric knowledge materials such as case features, human-interest stories, success stories, documentation briefs, blogs, and articles on Anti-Trafficking and Safe Migration (minimum defined outputs per month/quarter).
Lead systematic learning capture, case collection, and field documentation (FGD, KII, interviews) to contribute to analytical reports, policy briefs, and evidence-based advocacy documents.
Ensure documentation (photo, video, transcript, event brief) of all major project activities including trainings, workshops, consultations, national events, and Legal Impact Hub interventions.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and event-specific reports related to communication, advocacy, and media engagement; maintain a communication output tracker.
Manage and implement social media campaigns, develop content calendar, monitor engagement analytics, and ensure regular updates on digital platforms.
Coordinate with program team for collecting information, reports, photographs, videos, consent forms, and human-interest stories from field level.
Draft press releases for print, electronic, and digital media; build and maintain professional relationships with journalists and media outlets at national and local levels.
Ensure organizational and project branding compliance in all communication materials.
Manage contracts with vendors and partners related to program organization and communication support.
Offer expert advice on reputational and media risks arising from programmatic, policy, and campaign-related issues.
Perform any other duties assigned by the authority relevant to communication and documentation under the Ashshash Project.
