∎ Project Brief: The ‘JP Skills Development CXB-BC’ is a multi-year skills development project in the refugee camps of Cox`s Bazar. The project has a target to reach a total of 1,600 participants (50 percent women) for vocational skills training which will be selected across the camps considering the suitability, capacity and availability of home/community facilities for training. The target of 1,600 has been selected according to the prequalification requirements for the vocational training. The Project ultimately aims to assist refugees to acquire transferable and portable skills relevant to the labour market needs in Myanmar and the camp contexts, that would support sustainable return and integration (in Myanmar) when conditions permit; while enabling refugees to maintain hope for the future and have dignified and productive lives in the camps, including through engagement in multi-sectorial camp-based activities, minor livelihood activities, and community works, with the utilisation of acquired competencies. Accordingly, strategies will be geared towards enhancing skills development, economic and social empowerment, self-reliance of the Rohingya refugees pending durable solutions.
∎ Part I: Job Statement
∎ The Mechanics/ Technician will be responsible for the regular check-up and repair, install, replace, and servicing of different systems and equipment set in the 03 training centers in the refugee camps of Teknaf under the supervision of the TCiC. S/he will be responsible for monitoring and servicing systems, diagnosing problems and troubleshooting equipment, running tests and completing reports, updating and improving existing systems, and repairing or replacing faulty equipment. S/he will need to take on challenges to ensure a rapid, effective and timely response, holding responsibility of the smooth running of the 03 training centers, facilitating skills development courses for the refugee beneficiaries for project’s achievements and results.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key Activities
∎ Daily checking of different types machineries/equipment of training center as per the instructions received from the TCiC
∎ Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust equipment.
∎ Provide prompt support and take the necessary initiative once problem is identified.
∎ Weekly servicing of the machines as routine work and report to the TCiC.
∎ Maintaining & keeping the generator log book and fuel stock register for actual fuel consumption.
∎ Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
∎ Create purchase requisitions for the required types of machinery needed in consultation with the TCiC.
∎ Reporting Activities
∎ Writing up reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans in consultation with TCiC and maintain logbook and incident report register
∎ General
∎ Assist project implementation team in conducting regular/monthly and need based meetings
∎ Regularly update the senior management on project progress and challenges in the field and ensure their timely solutions.
∎ Ensure logistics and security to the project’s staff as per organization’s policies and procedures in coordination with Logistics department.
∎ Create congenial/friendly working environment for all staff members and ensure appropriate learning culture adhering to all safeguarding issues.
∎ Attend training/orientation as and when asked by the organization/ project management and participate in meetings, workshops and other events organized by other stakeholders and represent the project
∎ Perform any other related duties or responsibilities when assigned by the organization/ project management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 02 years of professional experience
∎ Competency in troubleshooting IT system including all the computer system and associated IT equipment to be used in the 03 training centers
∎ Knowledge of Rohingya dialect is desirable and experience in the Rohingya Camp Context will be preferred.

∎ Excellent teamwork, and a proven track record of building trust within and empowering teams
∎ Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills are essential

Salary:
∎ BDT 42,000/month (inclusive all)
