Experience:
Master’s Degree, preferably in statistics, social science, Nutrition or development studies
Minimum 5 years of experience in MEAL system coordination/implementation and management in a humanitarian context, preferably with solid MEAL experience in Health & Nutrition, Food Security, LSDS, Market System Development, etc.
Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and proficient in the use of Kobo and CommCare data collection tools
Skilled in quantitative and qualitative data analysis using appropriate software i.e. Stata and/or SPSS and ATLAS.ti
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
Problem-solving and decision making
Report writing, evidence-based documentation
Strong understanding of research methodologies and the nature of evidence which will influence key decision-makers in the area
Competent in qualitative and quantitative research and statistical analysis, including the use of statistical analysis software such as SPSS, MS Access, or digital Programming
Competent in database management, including Power BI
Experience with and understanding of Digital Data Gathering (DDG) systems
Job Purpose: The MEAL Specialist will bring significant experience and fresh ideas to lead on the MEAL system, implementation, review and evaluations. The position will lead to building the capacity of staff and partners on MEAL and particularly strengthening effective complaint mechanisms at the facility level. Lead on monitoring and improving the synergy and integration across programmes through evidence and documentation. Communicate top-level learning/analysis reports and monitoring data to ensure that management can make informed decisions for program quality
Main duties & responsibilities:
System strengthening and management
Lead the development and oversee the roll-out of the organizational MEAL system
Support MEAL Advisor to plan and facilitate start-up workshops with Programmes and MEAL staff to complete detailed activity planning and M&E planning for all projects.
Actively manage the relationship between Programme staff and the MEAL team to ensure the relationship is supportive, and coordinated, and that the M&E system is meeting the programme team`s needs in terms of enabling them to apply adaptive results-based management practices.
Support program teams to develop high-quality reports that include analysis of data to illustrate the Concern’s impact including providing evidence of good practices.
