JOB PURPOSE
To carry out inspection, preventive maintenance, repair of generators, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting and alarm circuits to ensure effective operation of repaired equipment or system.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Electrical Installation, Troubleshooting and Repair
• Perform routine works related to electrical installation, maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, distribution panels and lighting and alarm circuits.
• Trouble shoot electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect required maintenance, repairs or replacement requirements.
• Conduct insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effects.
Preventive Maintenance
• Inspect and diagnose marine electrical equipment by carrying out the Preventive Maintenance Program to ensure that the systems and components are running smoothly.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
• Follow all relevant section’s or department’s policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements or reports to meet section or department’s requirements, policies and quality standards.
Health & Safety
• Maintain an awareness of all health and safety rules applying to the assigned tasks and tools to ensure that safe working practices are observed.
Use of Tools & Equipment
• Maintain competence in the use of all tools or equipment required for the assigned works.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications:
• Technical School/Vocational
Minimum Experience:
• 1-2 years of experience as Marine Electrician
Job-Specific Skills:
• Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices involved in the installation, maintenance, repair and alteration of marine electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
• Skills in the detection, diagnoses, maintenance and repair of marine electrical system
