Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth, cost-effective, and efficient management of all company transportation operations including vehicle scheduling, driver supervision, route planning, maintenance coordination, and compliance with company policies and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the transport department including vehicles, drivers, and logistics schedules.

• Develop and implement transport policies, procedures, and safety standards.

• Plan and optimize vehicle routes to ensure timely and efficient service.

• Maintain records of vehicle movement, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.

• Supervise drivers — monitor attendance, performance, discipline, and grooming standards.

• Ensure all company vehicles are properly licensed, insured, and maintained.

• Monitor and control overall vehicle operating costs, including fuel, maintenance, and repair expenses.

• Plan and implement strategies to increase the number of down trips to improve vehicle utilization and cost efficiency.

• Control transportation costs by monitoring fuel usage, repair expenses, and overtime.

• Coordinate with the maintenance department for timely servicing and repairs.

• Ensure strict compliance with traffic rules and company safety protocols.

• Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, vehicle utilization, and department KPIs.

• Handle accident/incident reports and liaise with insurance or law enforcement authorities when required.

• Manage vendor relationships (e.g., vehicle rental or maintenance service providers).

• Support senior management with budget planning and transport-related cost optimization.
