Responsibilities & Context:

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Technical & Design Department of GFG Bangladesh.

• Lead garment technical development from initial concept/design through sample approval and production.

• Review and ensure accuracy of tech packs, measurements, construction details, BOM, specifications, fabrics and trims.

• Oversee development of proto, FIT/TAS, PPS, size set and other required samples.

• Ensure proper fit, measurement, workmanship and technical execution according to client requirements.

• Work closely with Merchandising, Sourcing, Production and Quality teams to ensure smooth product development and execution.

• Identify technical risks and provide timely and practical solutions.

• Communicate with international clients, factories and suppliers on technical and product development matters when required.

• Establish technical standards, procedures and effective working systems for the department.

• Monitor development timelines and reduce unnecessary sample revisions and technical errors.

• Lead, coach and develop the Technical & Design team to build a strong and performance-driven department.

• Drive continuous improvement in product quality, development efficiency and technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Textile Engineering, Garment Technology or a relevant field.

• Strong experience in garment technical, product development and/or design functions and fashion industry.

• Proven experience in a senior technical or managerial role, preferably with an international buying house or apparel organization.

• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fitting, measurements, fabrics, trims and production processes.

• Experience working with international buyers/brands will be highly preferred.

• Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple product developments and work under pressure.

• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on quality, accuracy and timely execution.
